Hey all, World of Warcraft question here. There is an island that can
be seen when taking a boat to or from Booty Bay. It's a big island and
you can only see it on the map when it draws the red dashed line
showing your path of travel. anyone know if you can set auto-run to
drop you in the middle of the ocean and right by that island? Anyone
ever tried it? Thanks in advance

The island currently does not actually exist in the game, it only
exists on the map. I believe someone told me this is the location of
the human nation Kul'Tiras, as well as the home of the goblin cartel
Undermine.

There is a smaller group of islands to the north, which I believe were
the risen ruins of the old night elf capitol.

If you set autorun before you switch to the map screen and zone across
the ocean, nothing will happen. When the map screen disappears you
will be standing on the boat still.

I think you're thinking of:

http://www.wowwiki.com/Northern_Islands

"A group of islands north and slightly east of the Maelstrom between
the continents. They appear on most world maps, but have yet to have
names or significant information.

These islands resemble the Broken Isles in Warcraft III, the place
where the temple of Sargeras and the fallen Night Elf city of Suramar
lies. However in Warcraft III the Broken Isles are near the Maelstrom,
and Lands of Mystery establishes that the Broken Isles are south of
the Maelstrom in the South Seas." -Wowwiki

See also:

http://www.wowwiki.com/Category:Closed_Zones

for all the closed or otherwise undeveloped areas of the world(s).

you could do that, but you would probably drown because of ''exhaustion''
while swiming.

I know I "might die" but if it was timed right, I might be dropped
close enough to be able to make it to shore in time. But as posted
above.....not possible since they do not really exist aside from being
map decorations.........yet. thanks for the input
