So at long last I finished a target I'd been working on for about the
last year: finally those annoying little elementals dropped my pet!
You'd really think it'd be easy to get a pet from non-rare mobs, but
when they only spawn at a rate of ten every ten minutes or so, and I
was far from the only person camping them through MoP then yeah, it's
been slow, and my droprate luck certainly didn't help (1 in 200,
apparently... yeah right). I've spent the last 500-odd kills wondering
how high I'd get it to, in a way it's a shame I didn't make 1000 lol,
but no way I was going to continue after it finally dropped! :-P

Good night for farming, as I also got my Bronze Whelpling from the
iron horde mobs in Blasted Lands - 1299 kills for this one, but seeing
as they spawn basically instantly when you kill a big enough group of
them, it was much less painful!

So now I'm back to mount farms, got two characters parked outside ZG
and one outside Utgarde Pinnacle doing daily runs, and my main running
Firelands, Ulduar, Attumen, Malygos and Onyxia weekly: I bet tonight's
luck won't continue onto those ;-)

Recently I actually got a mount from the heroic dungeon satchel -- Reins
of the Blue Proto-Drake! (Skadi the Ruthless, Utgarde Pinnacle heroic)

That's the only really rare thing I've ever gotten from satchels, unless
you count argent tournament pets.

Ooh, congrats! I'm still farming for that one, 39 attempts and
counting so far, might take a while but at least my rogue can stealth
through the place quickly :-) Never had anything from satchels, not
too surpring though, as I only rarely get any - they don't seem to be
applied on LFR so far as I can tell and I rarely do dungeons!

I did get lucky a few years back and get a blue drake from the bonus
bag for actually bothering to finish Oculus as a random (people hated
it so much Blizz had to add an extra bonus bag to encourage people to
not drop group, as I recall), naturally this was on an alt, not my
main, so it was more annoying than anything else until mounts became
accountwide. Handy now though :-)

it so much Blizz had to add an extra bonus bag to encourage people to
not drop group, as I recall), naturally this was on an alt, not my
main, so it was more annoying than anything else until mounts became
accountwide. Handy now though :-)

Well... it was handy, until last night, when it was actually rather
annoying, as Malygos decided to drop a mount for me - but it was the
blue drake which I already knew, and not the azure drake which I
really want! Typical :-)

I hope you're using an addon to do the counting for you because it would be really crazy trying to keep track of the actual number of kills before the item you want actually drops.

I am - Rarity, tracks loads of mounts/pets/toys and you can add custom
ones too, very handy addon :-) Although sometimes I don't actually
want to know just how long it's taking something to drop!

At long last, the ZG raptor just dropped on my 103rd kill - seeing as
I have two red-haired trolls which would look just perfect on a red
raptor, I've been wanting this one for ages, delighted it finally
dropped :-D

Malygos gave me the Azure Drake a couple of weeks back too so for once
luck has been with me, still working on all the others though! With
the addition of TBC raid runs for newly added pets, plus hunting down
music rolls for my jukebox too, there's plenty to farm now, just a
shame nearly everything I do still isn't in Draenor; the new garrison
stuff has sent me out on a few quests, but really there's only any
point in doing them once each to unlock stuff... oh well. At least the
old world's raids are fun, and to be fair I quite like Blackrock
Foundry in LFR so far, some fun fights there.
