Hm.

The AP rewards will probably be bigger than today's 100k reward from a
typical heroic dungeon. But... 865,842,644,766,330?

Okay. Now I read artifact knowledge will be raised to level 50. That
helps.

Interesting math here. :)

Lol yeah I think the 50/50 one is aimed at the hardcore types
really... but I do know there'll be new ranks of artifact knowledge
which are a LOT more effective than the currect ones, which should
help!

"Artifact Knowledge Level 50 - 55200000%" according to MMO-C, by
comparison the current max lvl is 25,000%, as I understand it (haven't
logged in to check), so adding the commas for readability, 55,200,000%
seems a rather large increase indeed :-)

Just getting back into WoW a little in time for this patch, I was
knocked out of all gaming for a bit with eyestrain problems (needed
new glasses, which turned out worse than the previous ones, second
optician got it right but by then they were knackered enough to need a
good rest!), and then got distracted by Guild Wars 2; that game's got
a few features I wish WoW had, especially the completely shared tags
on everything, to think how long we went with no sharing at all, even
the current 5 people per mob is great, but I love open tag on
gathering nodes, quest objects, mobs, etc etc. Not hating the sight of
other players is a big improvement for me!

I also really like the constant events, especially the ones in chains,
where you escort some NPCs, if successful, they invade a place, then a
big champion spawns, etc, it's fun following those kinda chains,
especially as they do make an actual impact (for a few minutes) if you
capture a base, or fail to prevent enemies setting stuff on fire,
feels pretty good :-) If one particular world boss isn't killed within
a time limit (often happens; he takes proper coordination), he
terrorises the zone randomly killing stuff for the next few hours till
he's available to be killed again, nice touch!

Big numbers are fun. :)

With 7.3 the AK should go to level 70 as far as I understand.

Imho. I'm tired of this AP farming. Also. I cant grab the right
rotation for my 887 arcane mage. My last kill on Krosus/normal my dps
was 365k. It should be more like 550k and more. I have double and
triple checked and compared my rotation to other mages' rotations found
at warcraftlogs. I have read altered-time.com over and over again,
tested my rotations on a dummy for hours. Frustrating!
Also. My keyboard broke down last friday. So I bought the big brother
to that keyboard saturday (steelseries apex). My fingers cant hit the
right buttons anymore and in BGs I'm close to mentally exploding because
I hit the jump key and not the nuke key. Last night I had to draw my
mage from a hc guild run in NH due to my keyboard problems. Worst
excuse ever! I'm gonna take a few days off from the game and I return
in a week /me thinks.. I couldnt care less about new content in my
current WoW mood.

Oh well. New job next monday. And less time for woW. I'm looking
forward for both. :)

I havent seen that anywhere? Well. Late last tuesday night I tried to
make a raid for the worldboss in Val'Sharah just before reset. That
wasnt a success. Despite I had set it to "Invite only" loads of DK and
druid tank bots applied for a spot. I've never seen bots applying for a
spot before that night. Isn't that new?
Anyway. We were like 10 real players in the raid and one of them
aggroed the dragon by accident so it jumped from player to player.
Mayhem. The dragon walked all the way to Temple of Elune and nuked
everything before it despawned. Almost just like the old days in
vanilla when the worldboss got kited from Duskwood to Stormwind. :)

Heh it doesn't bother me because I don't rush at it; I reached 35
points on my 2 main specs (ok, one 36 and one 35), that's good enough
for me lol - I'd be further along without my enforced break from the
game but still, I'd not have completed it and I don't greatly care;
I'm having fun even if I don't fill out the 20/20 (or 50/50
forthcoming) traits ;-)

Ouch, I bet; that sounds a pretty big difference from the expected
numbers. I never get to what I "should" get, I've accepted I'm just
not great at dps rotations (my only high lvl dps right now is a feral
druid... well..yeah, that is NOT a user-friendly spec... :-P), but
it's frustrating when it's a big gap. I know nothing about mage so
can't make any suggestions, but maybe some different guides will give
stuff that suis you better - I've heard it said that in some cases
it's better to take the "wrong" talent, because it's easier to get
right, and the "right" talent is easier to turn into a dps loss by
having to move at the wrong time etc. But as a pure casual I'm going
on hearsay and my own personal preference for taking the easy options
in my builds ;-)

Argh that'd drive me mad, yeah - muscle memory sure does work, ever
since I started playing Guild Wars 2 I've been trying to use its
keybinds in WoW, sigh. It would be very nice if I could just hit "R"
to dodge out of the aoe that's about to land on me, but it doesn't
work in WoW and now it's too late to move normally, need to retrain my
brain to accept two different systems ;-)

In Guild Wars 2 in case I didn't make that clear enough :-) If I did

jungle worm boss, where if it's not killed the worm heads "terrorise

Neat feature!

I'm installing Elder Scrolls Online while I write this. Bought the copy
a year ago and now its time to test it.

4 DVDs + 15 GB updates... WoW style. :)

Lol, ouch :-) And I thought WoW was getting large, I had to get a
bigger SSD after Legion launched as my old one (used only for WoW) was
90% full... ok, it was a few years old, they've got bigger since then
but still! Wish I was better at making time for other games than WoW;
I've heard a lot of good things about the Elder Scrolls series but
never actually tried any of them, maybe one day!

Wondering what chaos will happen with WoW patch in the morning, the
known issues list is kinda long, although most seem fairly minor..
http://blue.mmo-champion.com/topic/1053794-720-known-issues/ - also
going by bluetracker I can't go and try Kara immediately as heroic
mode is still locked behind the Mythic lvl attunement, oops lol.

I tend to wait and wait to get round to doing dungeons, but I reckon
this week is the time to go and try the newly-available former
mythic-only ones (Kara, Court of Stars and Arcway are all now on
heroic), as probably heroic mode will be full of people like me trying
them for the first time, instead of impatient experts expecting
everyone to know everything already ;-)

Oh I'm liking one of the undocumented changes:
https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/6224pp/patch_72_undocumented_changes/?st=j0u7l6t9&sh=832f58ed

* PvP flag is now cleared immediately when hopping from a PvP realm to
a PvE realm.

I was sure that was a bug when it changed in 7.0: the above is exactly
what it DID do through the whole of WoD, and it suddenly started
giving the 5 mins wait for flag to drop, which was both annoying from
the viewpoint of not liking being flagged (although on Draenor, eh,
Alliance are an endangered species so hey, I'm safe enough), and from
not being able to heal people if I actually managed to avoid getting
flagged... why on earth it's taken 6 months to fix that is beyond me
but thank goodness they've finally reverted it.

Not so sure about this one though:

*Creatures at level 110 now scale with item level.

Hmmmmm. I hope they don't scale *too* much; as a healer spec I do like
outgearing mobs so I can get through them reasonably quickly. Luckily
Disc is decent solo but still, I liked being powerful, so hopefully
it'd not scaled up so much that it gets annoying.

Confirmed:

I remember back in MoP when I could pull +20 mobs at firewalker ruins on
timeless isle and aoe them down without dying. Health maybe went down
to 50%. That was on my mage in 575-580 heroic/mythic gear. That was
ridiculous.
But I still dislike this scaling.

Yeah, hopefully it gets toned down a bit, I mean, I can appreciate
that it's a bit daft having people oneshotting mobs which are still
relevant for world quests, but as a healer, I like not having it take
too long! I'm only 869 right now and not seeing any issues on Broken
Shore, I expect mobs there to be tougher than elsewhere anyway, and
it's perfectly comfortable, so that's good, I just hope the comments
about it getting harder at higher ilvls are something that gets
hotfixed, as improving gear should not make killing things slower...

Other than that, enjoying things so far, I love the new sets section
to the wardrobe, fun seeing just how many bracers and boots (my 3
most-played alts are undead, tauren and troll... all of which are
classes that wear robes, so, boots never show!) I never bothered
collecting from otherwise complete sets :-P

And it's nerfed:
https://us.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/20753795863?page=151#post-3017

Sounds fine now, I wasn't noticing it anyway (admittedly some of the
hotfixes may have happened while I was playing, but certainly weren't
in place the whole time), so I'm clearly not high enough ilvl to be
affected - some Broken Shore mobs (particularly in questchains) were a
bit slow, but I expected them to be harder, old world quests seem fine
at my lvl.

Tried the new dungeon, read a Wowhead guide that was full of tons of
abilities to beware of and thought "eeeek" as I really don't have that
good a memory! As it was, 90% of that can be entirely ignored on
heroic, just needed to remember a few key mechanics on bosses, which
the one guy in the group who'd been there before told us about anyway,
phew. Nice to see I can handle heroic on the newest dungeon with no
trouble despite serious rustiness (only one death and that wasn't
entirely my fault as he stood in the fire that I had also stood in and
was too busy saving myself :-P ), guess I don't need to be scared of
trying the other newly heroic ones then, since they surely won't be
harder.

Hey, who knows, I might even try heroic on the old ones too and then
get that Illidan quest done... trying the ones I've not seen on any
difficulty will get me 4 tokens at least, and they did just lower the
requirement to 40 from the ridiculous 80... perhaps if I actually do
that stupid quest I'll find out why he's suddenly appeared when he's
meant to be dead lol (unless that happened in Nighthold, haven't done
that one yet either..., yes, I'm far behind on content stuff)

Hehe, I can imagine, if it significantly weakens your solo spec -
however, by all I've heard, it's less AP from 0-36 than it is from
36-37, so now is a very good time to catch those offspecs up :-)
Luckily for me my two specs were pretty much the same anyway, and are
the same now as neither had anywhere near enough to get to 37.

Also heard that specs get their own legendary bad luck protection now,
which is good... I got my 2nd legendary a couple of days ago, and only
then did I realise I was on the wrong loot spec, sigh. Well, it was an
80 ilvl upgrade and actually semi useful for soloing (I run loot spec
holy even though I solo way more than heal, because most the Disc
legendaries are pointless for soloing), so I can't complain, but
swapping it out for a holy one when I heal wouldn't be a bad thing!

Assumption correct, did Court of Stars tonight, and tbh my main
problem was keeping up with the very highly-geared tank who clearly
knew the place inside out lol. At least he did ask at the start if
anyone was new, and said he'd "slow down" when two of us said we
were... well his idea of slower is my idea of very fast but hey, he
could've soloed the place I think, never needed heals anyway. Seems
dead easy so far, I guess overgeared people helps a lot but still,
seemsall I have to do is learn the important mechanics that might make
me look really stupid, and otherwise I'll be fine ;-)

Mythic instances up to +7 are often cleared at lightspeed without
healers. With 7.2 I bet clearing mythics up to +12-15 without healers
will be just as trivial. And most skilled tanks can solo any heroic
dungeon even in 840 gear. The game has become incredible imbalanced in
any aspect I can think of. :/

will be just as trivial. And most skilled tanks can solo any heroic
dungeon even in 840 gear. The game has become incredible imbalanced in
any aspect I can think of. :/
That's crazy :-/ Although I can believe it, at the start of the
expansion I was duoing normals with my bf without much trouble in
840-845 gear, so better gear or a dedicated tank (neither of us tanks
a lot) could well do it. Tbh I like being able to duo relevant
content, as pugging is just stressful for me, but since he's not
playing now, and there's not much way a squishy healer will be soloing
stuff, I'm down to pugging heroics now. At least I don't have to worry
about actually needing to heal much when it's like that...
