Sha'tari Skyguard Rep appears to be... Useless? A Waste?

Food for 15 stamina and spirit? Bah!

Food for healing and mana? Almost bah! Ahh, make that a bah too.

Cloaks/robes/capes, one for AP and the other for healing? Compared the
cape to my hunter's current cape. Bah! Compared the cape to my
priest's current cape. Bah!

Netherray? What the hell good is this for?

I must have missed something that says it is twice as fast as the
gryphons that are sold in Windhammer. It better be faster or else it
does appear to be somewhat useless to me.

Damn thing does look ugly though. The drakes look so much better at
280% speed.

What is the speed of the netherray? I plan on getting the drake for my
hunter but the skyguard quests loook like they would be easier for my
warrior and priest. And that's assuming the ray is faster than the
gryphon otherwise it looks like a waste.

Oh well back to the grind.

I'm using the exalted trinket from them. Gives a nice boost to crit
rating, and when you kill a mob, you get a boost to your +spell damage
for 20 or so seconds

I think I like the ray's better than the drakes, though I don't have
one to compare, and can only go by glimpses as we zoom past each
other. But I think I'd still like my little ray roadster than a SUV
drake.

Well, with the ray you get the reputation discount, so it's only 180g
to buy, rather than the 200g for the gryphon. I believe the drake is
free if you can be bothered getting to exalted. So far the daily's
for the netherwing look like they suck compared to the Skyguard and
Ogri'la dailys.

What trinket?

Must be something not listed on WowWiki.

Yeah Zam and Joe will likely go for the Skyguard given how quick the
rep gain appears to be able to occur. The cash is rolling in but I
figure that it wil ltake me one month for each of them.

Where is the Quartermaster? I'll ahve to check out what other gear is
available seeing as how WoWiki appears to have missed some?

Quatermaster is at Skyguard camp in Skettis.

Skyguard Silver Cross
Airman's Ribbon of Gallantry

Are the trinkets I mentioned, and they are shown on the wowwiki sight.

Perhaps the page I was on did not have them. I had one food at
friendly another at honored two capes at revered and all rays at
exalted, that is all that shown on the page I was viewing.

I'll have to run a search on Wowwiki for their quartermaster and catch

I thought that at first, but now I've dropped wrangling because of too
much competition for rays (can do the simon one trivally though, so
thats in), and I stock up on the Netherdrake Quests and do those...

You get a few more quests at friendly/honoured, which makes the visit
into the drake mine much more worthwhile. I'm collecting ore and skins
(yep, mining and skinning, best money maker at mo), crystals, killing
flayers and collecting cargo all at the once...

Thats not including the poisoning quest, the boomerang quest (not
enough to throw it at), the one in Nagraand (too far), and the
transport ones too. Only done one of those so far...

I got my drake in just 17days only playing 4 hours a day. The only daily
I didn't do was not friendly skies. The flight to Nagrand is only 4 mins
on the epic griphen, you get lots of drops and 500 rep. Well worth the
trip. All of the quests are easily done.

Yeah they suck real bad, and even at honored its not as nice and easy as the
other ones.

I'm at honored and you can do one where you collect 15 crates inside the
mine, easiest one and you get 18.5g for it.

Theres one where you make a booterang, just 10 bits of leather and kill an
easy dino in netherstorm, then you click it on the ones that are asleep or
defiant etc. You need 20 which I thought would take ages but it wasn't too
bad. Best thing is you dont even need to land your drake so those elites
won't get you.

Theres one where you kill 15 flayers and 5 ravagers (inside mine), sounds
easy but always seems to take me a while, but I'm mining and skinning at
same time. Flayers are easy but ravagers seem scarce and theres always
loads of people killing them. Not too bad.

You can still do your handing in mining/skinning/herbalism and also the 40
crystals. Also you can still do the poison the orcs and kill the flying
orcs.

My 70 is a tailor/enchanter though.
And the poisoning thing? You've got to go get the fel glands first.
Bit more running around than I'd like. I should check if there's a
better way to get the crystals though. I know the mobs in the area
can drop em, but it doesn't that good a drop rate.

Killing the flying transports is the only one I've actually completed

Yeah I been wondering if my enchanter/engineer would take longer to
rep up because of those gathering quests, that assumes I ever get
around to getting him out to the Outlands some day.

I figure Taz, the hunter will be able to move through there fast, lus
I think my wife and a friend of ours wants to also get the drake.

Speaking of rep I think I should check out Sheepy in the armory to get
an idea of what faction rep you might be searching for, that way when
I have some run planned or even improvised I can keep you in mind.

I assume you are still in need of some heroic keys somewhere out
there.

Orion
No, I've got all the heroic keys. Just want to get exalted with the
various factions now for possible gear and enchants to learn. So that
just means running the level 70 instances (and Old Hillsbrad) or any
heroics. I'm in no real hurry for that though. Just as well as it
takes plenty of my time up putting together the primals for my
tailoring, and I can make primal mights too now, though I'm not going
all out and trying to make up enough primals to make em every day.
Need to make some money for my mages epic chicken too, though I'm only
a couple hundred off that I believe.

Which is why I started with the "so far". ; )

I don't mind the unfriendly skies one, though having to pretty much
sit around twiddling my thumbs on a rock while waiting for em to fly
buy isn't much fun.

40 netherwing crystals seem's like they'll take a while, though I've
probably just been a bit unlucky with the drops. But statistically
speaking it's still 120 mobs to kill for the quest.

And unless you get lucky, it's at least 60 mobs to get all your fel
glands for that quest. Then you still have to go poison the peons.

The later ones are probably more interesting. I've heard something
about a flying race, smacking the lazy peons (I loved the quest with
the blackjack when I started a troll mage) and I've helped someone
with that quest were you summon a heap of dudes on dragons then fight
them off.

I believe that the cloak is only supposed to be used with a flying
mount. Maybe doing daily quests somewhere. It is nice to not die when
a monstrous kaliri attacks you. :P Perhaps it is useful on PVP servers
too (crazy spellcasters dismounting you with instant cast spells). I
would never buy it though.
Post by Orion Ryder
Netherray? What the hell good is this for?
Just a different swift mount. I agree, it is ugly. I have a
netherdrake and I'd never change it to a nether ray.

I'm grinding skyguard rep anyway. As other posters have said, the
exalted trinket is very nice and it will be buffed in the next patch
(from 30% to 50% proc rate). There aren't many good trinkets easily
available.

I was grinding Ogri'la rep for the crossbow, but then I bought Don
Santos' rifle, which is even better. Now I have no reason to grind
Ogri'la rep anymore. :P Oh well...

I believe that the cloak is only supposed to be used with a flying
mount. Maybe doing daily quests somewhere. It is nice to not die when
a monstrous kaliri attacks you.
You get dismounted by Kaliri? /point /laugh. They're pitifully easy to
avoid. Wait until the first few times you try the ogri'la version, until
you figure out how easy THAT is too. I will say though, sometimes getting
dismounted in ogri'la is unavoidable.

:P Perhaps it is useful on PVP servers
too (crazy spellcasters dismounting you with instant cast spells). I
would never buy it though.
I have one, it's part of my standard flying kit. I keep meaning to try
skyganking someone with it - you fall REALLY slowly. Think of it as a
non-engineer's parachute cloak.

I don't need much from either faction, but they're fun and the money is
good. 45 minutes a day for 55g, and the chance for more if I get lucky
isn't something to sneeze at, especially since it easily finances my
raiding repairs and then some. *

Nope, I don't usually get dismounted anymore. I can usually avoid
them, and if I can't, I just fly away slowly descending or ascending.
Seems to do the trick nicely. Ogri'la quest is slightly harder and I
usually get dismounted once or twice during the quest, but I'm usually
flying quite low when it happens so it isn't a problem.

I've stopped doing Ogri'la faction quests (except for the ones which
also give Sha'tari skyguard rep) because I don't like them. Skettis
bombing run is fun and I do it almost every day, and it's the only
daily quest I really enjoy. Netherwing booterang quest is also fun,
but it is too far away.

And that's the moment where a lvl68+ druid rules! I do the bombing run in
bird form. And when I get unmounted by the bombs I automatically change
back to human form and start falling. But opposite to your flying mount I
can change to bird form instantly while I'm falling! So I usually never
hit the ground when I'm picked down. Wohooo! :)

Cloaks/robes/capes, one for AP and the other for healing? Compared the
cape to my hunter's current cape. Bah! Compared the cape to my
priest's current cape. Bah!
My warlock grinded just to get the capes (yes, I have both).

This is so I can dismount in the air, dot someone up as I fall, float
to the ground, put on other cape (separate cooldowns!), fly up,
dot again, float down, put on parachute cloak, repeat, and if they
are close enough to the ground, use the rocketship helm for one more
try. If I'm really trying to kill them, I can do it 2 or 3 more times
just falling & dying and using my soulstone.

The capes are also useful for exploring/jump down to areas in Azeroth.

Food for 15 stamina and spirit? Bah!
Food for healing and mana? Almost bah! Ahh, make that a bah too.

Okay okay you all talked me into it.

Pretty tricky trick there ith the capes.

Now I just have to find what else the quartermaster sells. Nto sure
why the screen I was at did not have everything.

My trip to the screen was thru wowwiki main - > faction -> skyguard

Maybe there are more items further down if I scroll. Now that I think
about some of them might have items further down the screen.

Thanks for the help.

Wowwiki is great, but it sucks for reputation rewards. It only shows
the name of the items and you can't see the type or stats of the items
without clicking links. I recommend thottbot or wowhead for those.

They have some trinkets which are handy for some classes.

They take longer to get.
