been raised before..
I am in the market for a new monitor to enhance my gaming experience

I am looking for at least 20 inch widescreen but thats all about I
know.
I aint sure on the pixel, refresh screen etc etc etc...
If anyone is using a good monitor that you could recommend then

this is usenet, it isn't google groups

post in the right group
(try the homebuilt pc one or smoething like that)

i'm using a very nice dell 2005FPW (bit old now of course, lookup latest
version of same model)
does 1680x1024 (or something like that)
and is 20"
TFT's you don't need nutter high refresh rate, 60hz is fine

get a monitor with DVI (and video card/cable too)

I call it an archive because I can find my posts from the mid-90's.

Google bought Deja.com.

CNet.com seems to be the best place to go to read reviews and compare prices
of all electronic gear.

For PC monitors start with:
http://reviews.cnet.com/Monitors/2001-3173_7-0.html?tag=cnetfd.dir

I personally use this Dell 24" monitor which gets a rating of 8.0:
http://reviews.cnet.com/lcd-monitors/dell-ultrasharp-2407wfp/4505-3174_7-31899303.html?ar=o&tag=pdtl-list

In any case read the tutorials and reviews.

Good luck and happy shopping

I just recently bought a Samsung 226BW 22" widescreen that is absolutely
lovely:

Absolutely zero complaints about it.

Remember your graphics card has to be able to drive the new widescreen
at the resolution you want. I ended up replacing my graphics card
shortly after going widescreen because my old card could just barely
handle it.

I use the Dell 24" monitor and have been very happy with it. I
haven't noticed any tearing or streaking or stuck pixels. I run in
1920x1200 mode.
