The new "Improved" WoW

So Blizzard have tweaked and improved WoW have they? To me the results
look like cosmetic surgery gone badly wrong.
The results are very poor, and you do wonder if anyone at Blizzard tried
them out before releasing them? And if they did, did they realise what
a mess they made of the whole thing but couldn't face the thought of the
resultant waste and costs if they trashed them?

But in the long term this is all part of what I am convinced is the
"dumbing down" of the game.
Last week I started to play Diablo 2, just for old times sake really.
In solo mode, not on online. And what I found was that even in normal
mode the game is very difficult and in comparison makes WoW look like a
walk in the park. D2 of course hasn't been touched by Blizzard in over
6 years and so is still in it's real "raw" state. WoW in comparison has
been tweaked and adjusted and updated and re-tweaked so many times that
it's no longer the game it was.

I remember when I first played WoW some of the early tasks were very
difficult and took two or maybe three attempts to get past them and to
develop the story and your character. Not now alas. And if I'm right,
then this is a definite decision on the part of Blizzard to make the
game as easy as possible and thus generate more income/cash flow.

Maybe it's time to find something else to spend my time and money on.

Hmm, most the complaints I'm hearing are that it's too hard now -
everything's a lot tougher than before, apparently. Not sure what
you're seeing that's easier, and how that ties in with the majority of
complaints being about it being harder!

Sounds like it, if you don't enjoy it, tbh.

I have complaints about this patch, but too easy isn't one of them.
Character models losing the feel of the originals, yep. Too many
skills being removed making it harder/more annoying to play, yes.

Haven't come across anything that's too easy as yet, outside of doing
significantly outdated content, which has been made too easy in order
to prevent it becoming impossible to solo old raids which were
possible before this patch; overcompensated a little, yes, but it
beats losing stuff which was previously possible.

Uh... what? I did the entire quest line for the portal on 4 toons. The
only time I died was when the game lagged so much I couldn't kill the
mobs. Hard? No, trivial.

There's a little more to the game than the portal quest though, and
I'm referring to the people on forums saying they're struggling to
level up, getting slaughtered in dungeons which were previously
trivial, etc :-P

The questchain is *supposed* to be easy; it's the intro experience for
boosted characters now, including Deathknight style learnign
talents/skills as you go along, so the first few quests have to be
completable by people in 483 greens with 3 skills and no talents...
hence, it will be easy for the rest of us. When WoD goes live, the
intro area in Tanaan will be the boosted character starter zone, and
same deal, so again, will seem far too easy to everyone else.
