Discussion:
Warlock tailor Aldor or Scryer (I know, FAQ, I know.)

Sorry to post an age-old Aldor/Scryer question, but my options for
searching and web page display are limited for me, and I also know
that there are people here who have some good specific knowledge
on warlock/tailors and so I ask here anyway.

What faction should I go with for my Alliance Warlock/Tailor?
Aldor or Scryer? From what I can tell, Scryer seems the way to
go, but I'd love to hear opinions.

There's not a lot of difference, honestly.

Aldor has more tailor recipes, but they're for fire resist items which
are mostly outclassed by badge rewards. And the Aldor exalted shoulder
enchant is better, but only barely.

Scryer has the nifty spellhit trinket and the correct flavor of
spellthread (+damage as opposed to Aldor's +healing).

In my opinion Scryer has the slight edge, only because of the trinket.

I have to agree here. The spellthread isn't soulbound, so you can get
someone to make it for you if you want. The trinket really makes it
worth it.

As far as the shoulder enchants go, the exalted enchants are roughly
equal in my opinion. The honored enchants however are not. I would
have preferred to have the aldor enchant at honored, but felt the
benefits of scryers were better in the end.

And that was before I even took tailoring on my warlock. As far as
tailoring recipes go, you'll get more from aldor, but you won't do
anything with them.

Scryer. They have a very good trinket and it's a less of a hassle
to craft the spellthread yourself rather than to find another
Scryer to do it for you.

The other gear that you can get is from either isn't really that
spectacular. I don't remember if the lower version of the shoulder
enchants was any good, but the epic versions are pretty similar.

Aldor has few fire resistance recipes for tailors, but you really
shouldn't need them that much. :)

And of course if you're going for Shadowcloth tailoring then the
Scryer base is a lot closer to the Altar of Shadows and will save
you a lot of time and bother before epic flying mounts at least.

On the other hand, spellthread can simply be bought on the AH, and
there are other ways to get spell hit and keep your trinket slot.
Despite being a Scryer, my frost mage has never used the bloodgem.

But if you need the spell hit and don't have two great trinkets
fighting for a slot, the bloodgem is indeed pretty good.
