hiding addon error messages?

Up until a week or so ago, I had all the addon errors hidden. that is,
I knew that some addons had occasional problems, but I never saw the
messages.

I then put in an addon mentioned here, and immediately started getting
lots of error dialog popups. I deleted the addon, but the dialogs
continue, often popping in the middle of battle, which is bothersome to
say the least.

I am guessing that the errant addon turn on/off some setting somewhere
so those messages are no longer hidden. I thought it was !Swatter
hiding them, but can't find a config for it, or for any other addon that
would do this magic.

Any ideas how to turn off those error displays?

Not sure about regular settings, but I delete !Swatter with each
Auctioneer upgrade (it's part of the Auctioneer Advanced suite for those
following along at home) and stick with tekErr
http://www.tekkub.net/addons/tekErr> which stays well out of my way, yet
still makes noticing and copying error messages easy.

That seems to get a lot of the messages, but some still pop up as
dialogs?

thanks for the hint. !Swatter is a real pain, giving tekErr a shot

Shouldn't.

None do for me. I would suspect, Burt, that you've installed another
addon as part of a package or something.

This may be dumb (and it's something I've done! :-D )... but are you
_sure_ you didn't get !Swatter back with an upgraded Auctioneer Advanced
suite? Many a time I've forgotten to delete the damn thing and have
annoying error messages poping up at the worst times. Maybe that's
useful if errors are rare, but I find they're non-stop given the huge
number of addons I use - not all of which are reguarly updated by their
authors.

I have swatter turned off in the addons control panel. I figure that way
it will not reappear with WoWMatrix upgrades.

Part of my problem last night was that I turned off swatter on one
realm, then later switched realms, not realizing that I have to turn it
off for each realm separately. Once I did that, most errors
disappeared.

The only error I now get is immediately upon logging in to any toon.
That is probably why swatter is actually "!swatter" -- to be sure it
runs first. I'm guessing some addon is triggering an error that loads
before tekerr.

I tried changing the folder name to !tekerr, but no go. That doesn't
seem to change the load order. I'm guessing I could go play with the
lua and stuff and make changes there to cause the load order to change,
but I suppose one error at logon isn't the end of the world.

Of course ideally you'd find upgrades for the malfunctioning addons and
get rid of the errors.

There is an option somewhere in the interface.
