saving in w3m instead of w3x

I know that w3x files are for the Frozen Throne, but I edited a map and for
some reason it when I go to save the file, the only option is "Warcraft III
Scenario - Expansion" and it saves it as a w3x file.

Now... the thing is, this would be great if I ever had the frozen throne.
But I have only ever installed the regular version and I don't know why it
is doing this. I can test the maps from the world editor by clicking on the
"Test Map" button and they all seem to play fine, but I can't open the files
if I try to find them from within Warcraft III; not even if I rename them to
*.w3m.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can solve this problem? I
was thinking that when you test the map it must create a temporary map
somewhere, but I couldn't find that either. Maybe if anyone knows how it
names the temporary maps and where it places them, that might also help.

Thanks,

Mike Robinson

It is *VERY* simple to find test map!!! Warcraft
III\Maps\Test\WorldEditTestMap.w3m(w3x)

World Editor wants to save it in w3x because you used some things that
are only in expansion, like some triggers, units, etc.

To see why the editor thinks that this map is for expansion, click
Scenario->Map Description.

The OP said that he doesn't have TFT. So, I don't really think that he could
have used expansion-specific items, if he does not have the expansion.

Unless they were added to the RoC Map Editor in a patch?
