Post by UrbinPost by Catriona RPost by UrbinI've spent quite a bit of time playing D3 during the last week, I like the
changes they made with the patch and will soon have my first character at 70
:-)
I love actually having a possibility to get a decent upgrade now, ok, I'm
at the stage where it's hard to find upgrades, but it still feels a lot
more likely to happen than it used to, and I can play at a level I'm
comfortable at while waiting for drops, big improvement over constant
deaths for no reward :-)
Absolutely. At one stage I had dished out about 5 EUR on two legendary
pieces for my Barbarian when he was in his fourties. Those were totally
overpowered and lasted well into the late fifties, when I'd cut back on D3
for a while. Then I logged in after the expansion and within a few hours had
replaced both of those with rares and by now I'm about half/half in
oranges/yellows. Updates still happen but not quite as often as below 65.
Yeah, it slows a lot towards the end, to the point where it gets a lot
tougher too as mobs are getting stronger quicker than you are. Don't
feel bad if you have to drop a difficulty or two before 70, it picks
up again fast then, tons of upgrades the first while you're there,
till you at least have decent rares each slot :-)
Post by UrbinTo be honest, I'm a bit disappointed with the "Mystery weapons/armour" you
can buy in adventure mode, I've spent about 50 of those chits and have
disenchanted everything I got because they were total downgrades to whatever
I've had (three red attribute changes). Still, adventure mode is good for
money, drops and XP and a welcome change from running through the same story
line again.
Probably worth saving the coins for mystery stuff till you hit 70 now
- you'll find it's a fast way of getting good rares, at least.
Combined with the Mystic for rerolling affixes, you can get very nice
stats very quickly using the mystery items to pick a slot to focus on,
a lot are bad but buy enough and something good will drop. After
you're in decent rares it's less useful; she *can* drop legendaries
but I've only ever seen two, both with terrible stats. On the plus
side, you get free gold or crafting mats from the rares, depending if
you sell or salvage them lol.
I find it funny how drop luck goes; I've had absolutely tons of
legendary weapons, to the point where I just /sigh when I see another
one drop (especially as most of them are 2h, while I far prefer to
dual wield, so those are auto-salvage for me). But I've only had one
legendary ring, with worse stats than my rare ones. I know it's random
but I sure wish I could push my luck towards rings a bit (and I've
been buying mystery ones for ages, no luck there either!)
Post by UrbinPost by Catriona RBit disappointed with act 5 now I've had more time to play it,
storyline was good enough but the zones, I only like Westmarch town
itself (and the graveyard), the rest get an "oh no" from me when they
pop up in a Nephalem Rift, a shame really, since I still like the
majority of the earlier zones. Probably personal taste rather than
anything that bad about the design though, and in fairness, Westmarch
town is my favourite across the whole game, love the looks and feel of
it :-)
I loved Westmarch town, too. I especially like the side stories in the mini
dungeons. I don't mind the rest of the act, though these parts are not up to
par with the town.
Yeah the mini dungeons are great, the stories bring it to life really
well. Found myself wishing the whole act was in there! :-)
