Can't ride hippogryphs

Anyone else had this problem: archers cannot mount hippogryphs in Twilight of
the Gods, night elf mission 7. There is no button to research Hippogryph
Taming at the Ancient of Wind - the level even starts with two mounted
hippogryphs! But whenever I tell them to mount up, it tells me I have selected
the wrong unit. Select archer -> mount hippogryph -> select hippogryph ->
"Must select a hippogryph." Select hippogryph -> pick up archer -> select
archer -> "Must select an archer."

AARRRGH WTF! This is particularly frustrating, since I've been trying to beat
this mission on hard for nearly two days now, and I keep losing in the last two
minutes to a horde of land-attack-only enemies. If I could get mounted hippos
it would be a cakewalk!

You have to click on the correct location on the unit for Warcraft to
recognize that you are selecting the target. Otherwise, it will think you
are targetting the ground.

Not really. Throw in enough hippogryph riders and the AI will produce
units that will counter them. Crypt Creeps being one of them...

I don't think I ever used any hippos in that mission other than the ones
they give you (and they don't last too long.)

I know, I know - it's the new unit, so it's probably useful, but just too
much damn stuff going on in that map and I just wanted to finish so I stuck
with what I knew.
