What to do with unused Burdens?

My main char has ilvl535+ items in all slots. Today I got another
Burden when I killed the final boss in the quest chain on timeless isle.
There is no point in using it on a timeless item as I still only will
get same sha crystal (he is an enchanter).
So what to do with it? Is there still any special use for it which I
havent heard about or should I just vendor it?

Vendor, I guess, unless any of your 535 items don't have ideal stats
and you want to gamble and see if you can improve them? That's how I'm
mainly using burdens, since I don't want to use them for slots I can
get tier pieces for (set bonus>7 ilvls, IMO).

Yes, thats the only option. When I "won" 4 burdens at Kukuru and his
chest I spent 2 of them on timeless chest pieces and got the exact same
items with full crit. I need mastery/haste. -.-

Do all of your Burden-upgraded items have two stats? If not, you could
use the extra Burden to try for another item with better stat allocation.
(Timeless Isle armor pieces with only one stat get short-changed by about
25%.)

AFAIK, they are only vendorable once you have all the 535s

I don't know of any other uses. I am a ways from having all slots up to
that level. I am getting ready to buy my first burden on my main. I have
had some drop for alts.

My main has used timeless coins to get a weapon and the trinket for
porting to Timeless. I stop doing the dailies on my main when I hit the
Valor limit so haven't been hitting Timeless Isle as hard as many folks.

All that said, either create the item and vendor it or create the item
and DE it and vendor the DE mats, whichever is greater.

My mage has gotten 6 Timeless Mail Helms. No cloth ones.

I should get the trinket. I didn't buy the weapon (30K staff, iirc) but
I eventually got a drop from the LFR.

Oh, bloody fucking hell, the trinket requires honoured. Honoured takes
freaking forever. My Mage is fully geared and is less than a third of
the way through friendly.

(well, fully geared with 496, not 535)

Those don't help with Timeless Isle rep.

True. But running around on timeless in full 496 may be a little tough.
When I returned to the game and my mage entered that island almost 3
weeks ago and in 530 overall I still had to replenish between almost
each fight. I wouldnt walk around there in full 496. Unless I have
misunderstood you completely, of course. :)

My Hunter is fine (except on the 4million+ elites) with an iLvl of 499.
My mage gets eaten alive by most anything at iLvl 511.

Seems definite advantages and disadvantages by class, my shaman's fine
on non-elites at 491, my 502 druid struggles on even those. My 534
priest is definitely the most comfortable despite having the lowest
dps potential of the three; my self-healing makes it feel really easy,
and the various buffs around the isle up my dps enough that even the
softer elites are fine (frogs, crabs, elementals, etc, no problem -
not the yaungol up by Ordos's throne though, maybe deathknights or
paladins can solo them but I sure can't :-P)

Indeed. Soloing 5m hp rares on timeless on my 520 destro lock is a
nosepicking experience. Void walker FTW here. That pet/tank is
incredible despite his poor 300k health! :)

Just full 496 isn't that bad if you buff up with elixirs, food, a
Timeless Isle shrine and a Timeless Isle damage or healing buff.
Obviously the mobs will go down quicker if you are higher geared but I
didn't find 496 all that painful.

Use the bird to get up to the chest on the Plateau. Worth dying for the
Burden inside to get 1 item to 535.

Also, if doing the 20 elites daily go for birds or buffalos as they seem
to go down quicker.

I tend to do the daily on non-yaungol to get rep (slowly), since the
yaungol are so overfarmed on my server it's just pure frustration
trying to actually tag any :-P Probably on less high pop servers it
makes sense to kill the yaungol but not on mine, unless you really
want the rep fast (I don't really care, I know I'll do it eventually,
there's no rush :-))

On my (med-low pop) server, the elites on the first plateau can be very
overfarmed, but the upper one across the bridge is much less so. Of course,
the mobs there hit harder, but they also give more rep. I can *barely* solo
the easiest elite there, but I've found it's pretty easy to form an ad-hoc
PUG with others trying to do the same thing. Then it goes fast.

This is good for several things:
* The elites there give more rep.
* You are working on the 20 Elites daily (rep + coins + 50 VP/day)
* You are working on the 50 tokens weekly (rep + coins + 200 VP/week)
* There are there are several rares there regularly, for the 6
rares weekly (rep + coins)

Try grouping up - its much faster and more fun, even in a two-man PUG.

I can't come close to soloing, anytime I try I get caught out by big
nasty oneshot abilities they do lol. Can solo most stuff on that
island but not those!

"Need" is a relative term. :-)

Although if rep is important than there are often groups to jooin to
complete quests and also farm rep. Granted there don't seem to be as
many now as before. YMMV.

I"ve generally found it very easy to hook up with other singletons or small
groups to farm the fire guys. It rarely takes more than a few minutes; just
find someone of your faction who is farming, and say and/or whisper 'Invite?',
and send them a in invitation.

There is no downside in working on this as a group; loot is shared, and
kills come far far faster.
