Hi,
Was wondering if anyone knew this yet...
If there are gas clouds, one imagines so. We didn't need to build a new
gas mote extractor device when Wrath of the Lich King came out, so I
doubt we'll need a new one in Cataclysm either.

More helpfully: I haven't seen any information either way as to whether
or not there will be gas clouds.

I think it'd be cool if new 80-85 recipes used the old old world
mat's, like all those various types of spider silk, the essences of
air and such rather than (or as well as) introducing new materials.

I'm not sure. Story wise, it might make sense (being back in the old world,
old world mats should be used). But then, even while levelling in the old
world low level recipes used different things than high level recipes, so
there would be a "reason" for even higher level stuff needing even higher
level mats.

I am expecting that after motes/primals in BC and crystallizeds/eternals in
WotLK there will be a new combo of elemental materials (which of course is a
pure guess and could be wrong) and that there will be corresponding clouds
on which the extractor wil work (but I am again speculating :-)

Cheers

gas mote extractor device
As an aside.

I used to be an engineer and made one of these. Then dropped
engineering and about 2 years later took it up again. I cant get the
recipe to make one of these anyone know what I can do? I think an
engineer might be able to make me one but its doing my head in.

The recipe came from a quest near Zabra'Jin in Zangarmarsh. Try talking
to the questgiver to see if he will teach you the recipe again. Otherwise
you might have to ask another engineer to make one for you.
