THE VIABILITY OF TROLL PRIESTS IN RAID
Now we all know the downsides of having troll priests in the raid. The
other priests may feel intimidated by the presence of the troll, they
might also be a bit jelaous, cause their robes don't have any elbows.
But why should we take troll priests to our raids? What is it that
makes the trolls so special and better than the undead retards... or
even worse, the cursed blood elves. Remember that all Undead and Blood
Elf priests are emo. Emo is evil and pathetic. Trolls are cool.
After looking through my abilities there are a couple of things that
the troll priest brings to the table, these are most importantly:
- Berserking
- good looks
- shadowguard
- hex of weakness
- beast slaying
- +5 to throwing and bows
And what are these good for then?
Berserking is a short buff that decreases casting time of all spells
by 10-30%. The less health the troll priest has, the faster his heals
will be. From a roleplaying point of view you can think the troll
priest is going "WTF!!! I R BEEING KILLED MON, BETTER HEEL FAST". This
spell is awesome and no class can fill up a tank's healthbar faster
than the troll priest by berserking and then spamming flashes
(assuming the tank has at least 7-8k).
Good looks is quite a vital ability, and one that really makes the
troll priest stand out from his fellow undead and blood elf priests.
It's been proven in tests over and over again, that people get a
feeling of happiness when they see beautiful faces. So if a raid
member ever feels down, he could just look at the troll priest, and
feel better again. This ability will also be useful in convincing the
mobs just to hand over loot, instead of making us learn tactics to
take the loot from them.
Shadowguard is a lightning shield, but it is much more awesome than
the shaman versions. just think a raid situation: some big-ass dragon
thing is hitting on some poor orc warrior, and then... a quick mind
blast from the troll priest, and the dragon turns to him... but when
the dragon actually hits the troll priest, he will be WTFBBQ-ed for
260 damage... the dragon will never know what hit him.
Hex of weakness quite obvious... did we forget a MROTAL STREIK
warrior? well, here's a mini-version at least. It lasts longer and
also decreases damage done by the mob by a whooping 21.
Beast slaying also quite obvious, I R CAN KILL BEESTS BETTER THEN YOU
NOOB! SO I R SMITE NOW!
+5 throwing and bows this one will help the raid out in various
situations. We can't actually use said bows or thrown weapons, but the
troll priest could act as a teacher, showing some undead noob rogues
how to wield a bow. The lessons will be available for 20g per hour.
Do you still doubt that a troll priest is fairly vital in all raid
situations? Well, let's take an old fight from before the burning
crusade as an example to demonstrate just how useful the troll priests
are in a raid situation. The fight we'll talk about is Nefarian
The fight starts off with a huge zerg of boring mobs. During this part
the troll priest will be healing with his friends, but he will be
healing faster than them when the *%%# hits the fan. Situations like
the one at the beginning can create a lot of confusion, but with the
great looks and powerful presence, the raid members will find
happiness and joy fill their hearts at the sight of their beloved
troll priest.
In phase two the dragon lands and starts shouting random *%%#. The
troll priest will now apply hex of weakness and healing will become
alot easier. Then he will continue healing as usual, only he can pop
berserking and heal faster than the undead guys during warrior call.
The troll priest might also offer hunters a quick lesson to use their
new bow, if they noob up and break their primary bow.
Phase three the troll priest will pop shadowguard and grab some
healing aggro, the mobs will drop down like flies around the awesome
priest. Also, it is highly likely that shadowguard will be the killing
blow against nefarian, cause the troll priest will have healed so much
that he has to tank the last couple of percents, but that is okay due
to another yet not noted racial: the RACIAL REGEN IN COMBAT. You heard
me right, the troll priest will regen around 9 hitpoints per tick in
combat. THAT IS AWESOME!
Here are some stats from synced swstats to convince you guys:
-------------
Damage Done:
Pálmar (85% shadowguard)
Rogues
Other Noobs
--------------
Looks:
Pálmar 70%
Other Trolls 30%
Orcs/Taurens 20%
Undead 0%
EmoElf -20%
---------------
The list goes on, but it is quite noticable that in the top spots you
will only see trolls. This has been the result in every raid we've had
so far. Also notice how the troll priest has the chance to wear
dresses, so he can outshine his fellow trolls that need to be wearing
some wierdo-armor. It has been concluded that troll priests will
increase the looks of a raid by at least 10%.
This is obviously a balance issue since the Alliance does not have
access to troll priests. The Dwarfs are allright, but only if you
think beating your wife (or your husband should they happen to be
female) is OK. Night Elf is not as @!# and emo as the blood elf, but
they're still not cool. Humans are allright I guess... and the
squidfaces are just plain retarded.
In conclusion, the troll priest is the anchor, leader and pride of
each raid in world of warcraft. The game is certainly doable without
him, but it'll make things alot easier to have a troll priest around
in the raid. The troll priest fills your hearts with joy, your
healthbars with green stuff and your lives with happiness. No other
single class-race combination in the game can come close to the troll
priest in awesomeness.
