(1) Are the mobs on Three Breeze Terrace gone? Didn't see them on a
recent visit.

(2) I used my instant 90 to level a low level alliance. I am Horde on
all my high level characters. I was hoping to level him a bit in
Pandaria, especially Timeless, before moving him along to WoD. Do I need
flying to get to Pandaria on Alliance? I know I did on Horde. It will be
awhile before I can afford flying. Seems a bit silly to instant level to
90 but have everything else about the toon be as it was at lvl 15.

(3) I am considering getting a recent Apple leptop for mostly work but
some WoW. I will get enough RAM to do the job but what graphics minimum
do I need?

(4) On the toon on which I have lvl 2 mine, I mine the ore nodes when I
first log on but there are no mining carts. If I go back later in the
day there are usually carts but no nodes. Are they on different timers?

Nope, they're only there when someone summons them, so as nobody's
doing the summoning now, they're absent, but they'll return if someone
does the summon :-)

Don't you at least get slow flying with the boost? Even if not, it
costs like 500g for slow flying+Azeroth flying, can't be that hard to
get. Cage and sell a pet from your main if all else fails, that's an
easy way to transfer money between factions/realms.

Haven't a clue I'm afraid, chances are the WoW site will tell you
though, should be some minimum requirements someplace on it.

They're supposed to be on the same one (at least, I thought they
were), but mine are different too. No idea how it actually works!

You do not need flying in Pandaria on either faction. In fact, if you
level in Pandaria you cannot fly. You cannot fly at all in WoD, so I
don't see any reason to pay for flying. There is also no reason to try
to gear up in Pandaria at level 90.

The Intel Iris is doable, or anything with a real graphics card. The
Intel HD series are not pleasant for WoW.

Sounds like it. I don't login consistently enough to notice.

His question was about getting there though - if you need to do the
intro quest to unlock the place, then you need to be able to fly in
order to reach the airship... but as I said in my post, it's really
cheap to get that level of flying, and frankly I'd expect it to be
given anyway on a boosted character (I haven't boosted one yet but it
seems an odd thing to leave out!)

I don't think so. Or do you mean the quest in Stormwind? Is that
required?

I believe so, at least on beta with a template 90 I couldn't go to
Pandaria without doing that quest - portal wasn't open. The template
characters had flying though, so I kinda assumed boosted would too...

See my later post. Starter quests for Pandaria no longer needed. The
portal to the starter zone is there and active and you arrive with all
the flight points.

I never saw a starter quest for Pandaria like they used to have so Blizz
seems to agree that Pandaria is not to be encouraged. I am a bit burned
out on WoD as until you get to Gorgrond or Talabor, the quest line is
rigid. I have 7 toons on Horde with Garrisons (trying to get all my
toons with crafting professions up and running and I am also a little
tired of keeping up with garrison gathering, work orders and missions
for that many. My "main" is halfway to 99 so I will push him to 100 to
have a bit more variety.

All that said I am in no hurry to get my instant level Alliance 90 into
the same grind. It turns out Blizz eliminated the starter quests for
Pandaria. I found the balloon in Stormwind and under it was an active
portal and once in Pandaria I had all the flight points.

To get my skills and flying I did have to do the WoD starter quest line.
At different stages I would be rewarded with more abilities and talents.

The process was completely unintuitive though for someone experienced
like me. I guess if you were just starting you would figure out to go
through the dark portal and do WoD.

If you have the waterwalking mount from Nat Pagle you can actually walk
to Timeless despite you get the exhaustion debuff between the island and
the mainland.

I bet any apple laptop can do it. Which model do you have in mind?

Intel's HD3000 can run the game, but I wont recommend it though. It
worked like a charm in MoP (you could do 5man dungeons with framerates
around 25-50+) while it lags in WoD even when soloing content (it _can_
be my setup though). I dont know about HD4000. but I know it does a
better job than HD3000 (which is pretty obvious btw). :)
My laptop's geforce 540mobility does it very fine too in in raids with
18 peeps as Blizzard has tuned the gfx engine greatly so even the 540m
card can handle bigger raids with everything set to good quality!
But google your laptop's video card's perforemance in WoD.

I have noticed this too. But I only check the mine once everyday as ore
has exploded in my reagent tab.

Still deciding between MacBook Air and Pro. Will definitely get 8 gigs
of RAM and hope for the dual core i7 chip but might settle for the i5.
The little I have read of WoW on these machines is that the graphics
card is what limits performance if you are grouping for anything. Most
of those reviews were pre WoD xpac though.

The MacBook Airs are listed as having and Intel HD Graphics 5000. The
MacBook Pros are listed as having an INtel Iris Graphics.

This will just to do some basic Wow play when away from home or Wow
"Housekeeping" stuff (Garrison, fishing, etc) while n the living room
instead of the office. Sounds like I should be ok no matter what I get.

WoW works well on my iMac with 8 gig of Ram. More would be good, but I
find 8 gig quite acceptable.
