Not yet, glad they're lasting a while since I'm busy watching the
Olympics instead :-) I'll certainly have a go when I get some time
though, looking forward to it, plus the Broken shore scenario, which
I've done on beta but the end cinematic wasn't in then, so there'll be
new stuff in it for me too :-)

I'm done. Even gotten the hidden Feat of Strength for all 6 Invasion
zones done. (Defender of Azeroth: Legion Invasions). You can force the
tracker to show your character's progress by issuing the command:

/run AddTrackedAchievement(11201)

So far, my goal of seeing 0 Olympic events is wildly successful. I
accidentally saw about 30 seconds of a swimming relay that the US won,
but I don't know what the event was and I was just standing at the bar
picking up three beers so I don't count it.

Sorry. I havent played the game since january and I'm busy at work.
But I bought Legion last night and I consider playing the game again for
a month or 2. :)

Think there's a couple of toys and pets, I'm a bit hazy on details due
to lack of playtime, but you also get crates containing ilvl 700 gear
which is pretty nice, one invasion gave me boots, chest and a mace
last night, even if all 3 were slots I had better in on my main, it's
a nice source of quick gear for alts.

I think there's an item you can buy that upgrades the weapon to 725,
but still, weapon is basically the first thing you'll get when the
expansion goes live so that's not a huge priority hehe :-) I've
managed to fit a couple of invasions in now, pretty fun, once I get
more time I'll spam them a bit on my alts to try and get the transmog
looks, I'm enjoying them so far.

remember which addons I've used and my backup - which I thought was
placed in my NAS - is not found. :/

googl'ish. Bah. The next 5-7 days will be spent on setting up
everything. :/

Probably won't be so bad now that the patch has been out for a while.
Addons should be better, characters looked to be simpler.

A while ago I used a token, thinking maybe see how it goes and get the
new expansion.
Guild is dead, still exists but only a couple out of hundreds logged on
in the last month. Nobody to do stuff with, or even chat to.

Spent 6 hours re-doing addons etc, no actual game play.
Next day , getting there three hours trying to get AH addons to work.
This was the big hump that always stopped restarting.

Nothing for a couple of days. Go to login and really play for 16 hours
and get in a groove working up the 100s.
..PATCHED? Most things broken again.
I know, my fault, if I had actually read anything I could have
expected it before wasting time.

Total game play for a month, a dummy and a few experimental Elek
only 1 out of 7 lvl100 even had talents assigned.

Hehe I'd find it easiest to go back to nothing and decide what's most
essential, I think, luckily for me all my most useful addons did get
updated but tbh I can live without most of them anyway if I had to.

What I really can't live without is VuhDo for healing (Grid+Clique is
a perfectly acceptable alternative, but so far VuhDo has always been
updated in time!), and I really don't like playing without my "fix
stupid Blizzard UI changes" addons, ClassicQuestLog and Advanced
Interface Options hehe, the rest I can do without at least
temporarily. I've even managed to get used to the new healthbars once
I found how to fix their behaviour a bit, since my healthbar addon did
die permanently, it seems :-(

When I played I used to have 180+ addons installed (far too many for my old
machine, zoning, especially entering instances took ages). I was sure I
could not play without them :-)

Back with the last expansion (whose name I can't even recall without looking
it up) I came back for a month to see just what it was like and having been
gone for more than a year decided I'd try your approach: Started with zero
addons and found that the standard GUI had actually become quite usable for
casual play. Installed maybe 5-6 (that were updated or replaced older ones)
during the first few days, but mostly just went without.

One thing that kept me from was playing my resto-shammy, as I didn't bother
with the addons I found vital for that (button addon whose name escapes me
right now, bar plate addon, scrolling text addon and a few more), but
everything else, including 5-man instances was fine just with the basic UI
and a handful of addons for comfort (mostly small ones).

So if you're only coming back for a month, I'd suggest you try that instead
of wasting a lot of time getting an old setup to work.

Those two for sure, though DBM is not needed if you aren't going to
raid.

My core are Dominos, Autobar, a mini map addon (Currently chinchilla), a
broker bar, and about half of the CT_mod addons (mail, core, a couple of
others). Oh, and MasterPlan for now, though garrisons have been made
largely irrelevant. TransMogTockens is also pretty useful.

Then there are many minor addons that I really like to have. TTell,
turnin, BadBoy spam blocker, TullaRange (not sure if that is updated)
and OverAchiever. Oh, and AdvancedInterfaceOptions which gives you back
a lot of the UI options Blizzard has stripped from the game. Oh, and

Chinchilla is just such an underrated addon. I have used that one all
the time.

Shadowed Unit Frames, kgPanels, Chocolate, Routes, Een, TSM, Tidy
Plates, Prat, MBB (which replaces the outdated MinimapbuttonFrames),
Weak Auras and GTFO so far.

TSM is easy to set up. SUF, Weak Auras and kgPanels will take a lot of
my time. Especially Weak Auras... :/

CTMod takes me back! I used it all the time back in the day, didn't
actually know it was still going, as pretty much all its features I
used to use ended up in the default UI or in other addons that did
other things.

TransmogTokens is fantastic, is is CanIMogIt - both are things that
really should've been in the default UI, and really make a huge
difference for collecting wardrobe looks.

It's the best tool to move the tooltips form their shockingly stupid
default location. Chat time stamps, mailmod, guild/duel blocks. Al sorts
of things in one addon.

of XP. I did 4 on my retadin and she went from 93 to 96 (granted, nearly
94 to start and just into 96, but still.

There is a secret feat of strength for completing all 6 zones.

/run AddTrackedAchievement(11201)

Ohh, nice, I have a lvl 96 DK that I really want to get to 100 as I've
heard their class questlines are great in Legion, I'll take him to a
few invasions then!

If that goes well my 93 pally scribe will follow, I've been somewhat
irritated to find all the new inscription recipes can't be learned
till lvl 100, so I lost about 5/6ths of my old recipes, and can't get
the new ones till I lvl up.

Yeah, I'm quite liking them too. Mostly on my healers. It's a bit
tricky since people aren't all in a raid (at least no one seems to
bother forming one at the times/battlegroup I play) so sometimes I end
up casting a few heals on the target of the bosses only to find out
I've been healing myself as the target was of the opposite faction.

Mostly I spam a bunch of self-targeting AoE heals, or heals that hit
everyone in a particular area. Occasionally people say thanks for the
heals (in general, not to me in particular, though I often seem to be
just about the only person actually specced to heal)

Was starting to wonder what to spend all the crystal thingies on, then
realised the demon hunter weapons are bound to the battle.net account,
so I can buy them now, upgrade them and then pass them on to my DH
when I actually make one.

Drive-by healing as Disc sucks now... target boss's target, get
atonement on then, then target back to something else and start
dpsing, talk about clunky lol (yes I know it's designed for healing
within raids really), but dpsing as Disc is fun so I'm mostly doing
that and just throwing the odd heal out; in world content I prefer
being in my more dpsy spec rather than relying on other people to help
me.

It's actually crazy; where I'm seeing every other class down on dps in
Kazzak fights and the like, my priest is UP by a long way, probably
about double where he was before, so I'm really enjoying it this patch
hehe. Obviously that won't last long, once we lvl up and my gear stops
being overpowered but it's nice for the present!

than I'd like for my warrior, there's usually mastery or crit with it,
so that's something at least. I'd think it'd mostly be okay for

But the invasion blues aren't better than my 705 purples. I think the
in game comparer is a bit broken as it seems to look at the purples
original stats from before it was upgraded to 705. So it shows all
these green numbers saying that it'll increase your stats to equip the
blue, but looking at the actual numbers they show, the purples have
more str and sta and such, even though the popup says the difference
is otherwise.

I've heard of them going as high as 740 if you're very very lucky; I
got a 720 earlier, that's the only one I've had in 5 invasions today
though, so takes a bit of luck to get one, nice to see the higher
drops anyway, makes it more worth doing on my main.

I've only gotten 710s myself, but people in my guild have gotten 715s.
Haven't heard any 720s, but there's very few guildies playing. In fact,
my characters represent about 20% of the total guild members.

I'm going for the transmog looks, got all cloth except the belt now,
so since my main got the achievement for doing all invasions I'll
likely use my badly-geared warlock to farm the belt, since she can get
some use out of the 700s. Suspect I'll just buy the looks for other
armour types but with 2 cloth 100s I might as well farm that one out.

Been reading that the chests give items the lvl you are when you open
it, rather than when you receive it, which is unusual - no idea how
accurate that is but I'll give it a go for my DK and not open them
until he hits 100!

Definitely true. I took my warlock from 90 to 100 and didn't open any
chests. When I hit 100 I opened all 72 for ilvl 700, 710, and 720 items
(only 1 720). Equipped the best items, sold everything else, made nearly
3,000g.
