Post by Peter T.Post by Peter T.It's silent in the group. Are you doing well, folks? Is Legion a great
expansion? :)
Professions! I love how we have to get upgrades, new
recipes/patterns/etc. It's vanilla style! Tonight my herber had to
kill Cenarius in EN for the third upgrade for the felwort skill. :)
I mostly like it, would prefer not having to do dungeons for early
recipes though, like my alchemist only had about 3 recipes before
being faced with a dungeon quest, that's a bit far for my taste :-P I
also wasn't happy with the recipes in the mythic-only dungeons, but
those dungeons will have heroic versions in 7.2, hopefully containing
my recipes, so I can live with that!
Post by Peter T.Maxing out profs is difficult now. My enchanter is stuck somewhere
around 750 or 760 due to lack of upgrades (lvl 3 recipes which only
drops from WQs which seems to not appear anymore with 7.1?). My herber
is stuck at 796 and I have farmed more than 5 stacks of herbs at that
level tonight. Not a single point.
Oh, skilling up is nasty, I do have mining maxed but JC was so
painful, had to craft yellow items worth about 12k of mats (that sell
for about 4k, if they sell at all) to get from 780-790, at which point
it went green and I gave up - Darkmoon Faire got me to 795 and I'll do
800 next month!
And cooking, erm... 780 and *everything* is grey. Including a lot of 3
star recipes, not sure which will be the magic one that actually is
not grey, but I haven't discovered it yet, despite Nomi burning
maximum amounts of food every day (and me regularly switching up what
types of food I give him). Well, it beats getting everything on a
plate right at the start, but I did think that 2 months in I should be
getting somewhere near... :-P
Post by Peter T.World quests! <3
Love them :-D Although the amount of time I spend on them does mean I
have less time for everything else, they're even more addictive than
Post by Peter T.No more fancy spell abilities. I'm playing 4 chars atm. 3 110s and a
single 106. Arcane mage, Boomkin, resto/ele shaman and shadow priest.
Rotations are still important, but the spellbook has become less crowded
with fancy spells and abilities. I actually like that despite I miss
Alter Time on my mage. :)
I've mostly got used to that, I do miss having an interrupt though...
and an aoe with less than 15 sec cd :-P Otherwise I love my priest,
and druid is more too complex for me than too simplified, I've
accepted I'm just not going to be very good at him, but he's fine for
soloing anyway :-)
Post by Peter T.No more strict path to level. Pick your zone. I also really like the
scaling alignment dpswise which works almost flawlessly. Oh well.
Bring your ilvl 870+ char into a normal dungeon and you can get clearly
outdpsed by a fresh lvl 102 char and demon hunters still does crazy
damage until they hit 110. The scaling is not 100% perfect. :)
Hehe, I do like the scaling overall though, being able to do stuff at
max lvl across the whole continent is fantastic, there's so much to do
and see, and it all feels relevant, it's the scaling that makes world
quests work out so well, as it gives so many more areas for them. And
not having to care what lvl your friends are to group together is
great - now, if only they'd let me group with my friends on the other
faction... (they just said at Blizzcon that they won't, grrr :-( )
Post by Peter T.I'm not sure what kind of weed peeps smoke today. Yesterday I posted a
sackful of nearly useless pots and items, a few herbs and ore and other
oddities on AH and I made 15k gold. And I'm not even near the AH game
like I was 2-4 years ago. 30-40 mins of work in suramar and I can make
3-5k gold on AH just from raw mats. so that 2m gold spider mount is not
far away. :) Gold is pretty much devaluated and is not a problem anymore.
Prices are insane at present, it seems a lot of people who made tons
farming the garrison are willing to spend silly money now, I'm
certainly not complaining. Think I'm 600k richer than I was at Legion
launch... prices have come down a bit lately but still, pretty much
anything sells for a lot, especially trade goods and consumables.
Post by Peter T.Flying skill? I dont need that (unless I herb and mine). the lack of
flying makes places like the city in Suramar much more fun and
challenging. You just cant fly in, kill that npc/miniboss and fly away
again. you have to get past loads of guards and detectors if you want
to do that WQ! Me like! Its almost like a good ol' first person shooter!
I still stumble upon new well-hidden paths that leads to some small
surprises here and there. Small caves everywhere. Details, details,
details... and even MOAR details!
I so agree! Don't object to flying coming back eventually, but I'm
very glad to be experiencing it this way first; Suramar would feel
like nothing if you could just fly over it all. Now, that's not to say
I won't mind the convenience when it IS added, but right now I'm happy
:-)
Post by Peter T.Damn good expansion! 9/10 stars.
About sums up my feelings, it's done a great job so far, long may it
continue! I keep realising there's so much stuff I want to do that I
haven't got round to, as well; like 10 classes' class campaigns rofl,
and seeing the demon hunter starting zone... and I want to lvl my
gnome hunter up, want to do some more dungeons (although I'm having a
TON of fun duoing some on normal with my bf now, far better way of
exploring than zooming through attempting to keep up with a pug and
not really having much idea what's going on :-)), maybe a bit of
pvp... oh and I've been forgetting to do my baby falcosaur dailies,
yeah, tons to do :-)
Oh yeah and another thing I love which mention of Suramar reminded me
of: the voice acting. "An illusion! What are you hiding?" etc is
brilliantly done, the males in particular sound perfect, and you hear
it often enough to know it well hehe. The harpies are fantastic too -
yes, they're very annoying and painful, but that's what a harpy is
*supposed* to sound like. And the quest dialogs are mostly excellent
(except that female tauren in Highmountain...), really bring it to
life more; I find myself missing it when I do older content now.
Wonder if the voicing is why more people are liking the story this
time out; certainly brings it to life far more, I've found myself
interested in a lot of the characters as a result.
