Realm transfer possible?

Are any realm transfers possible at the moment? Why the heck can't Blizzard
just let characters transfer to any low pop realm of the same type.

Free realm transfert will come in 1.11 (yes, they are already creating
the NEXT patch); i'm not sure, but i heard wisper about a cost in the
transfert (i think only to block the mad-tranferts)...

Character-Transfer Service
Another feature of the Web site we'll be implementing is fee-based
character transfers. This is a feature that's been very frequently
requested and one which we want to provide for players as soon as we
can. We'll offer character transfers from one realm to another, as
well as allow players to move characters from one account to another.
While we want to offer this service as a convenience, we also want to
prevent its use for exploitive reasons, so there will be a time
restriction to limit the frequency that a character can be moved.

Note that this is in fact an old post from back in September! Blizzard has
not revealed any date or patch when generic realm transfers will be
available. It may be that they'll come in 1.11, but that's really just a
guess. Blizzard did not say it so don't hold your breath for 1.11. Blizzard
never gives dates and until you can read a date on an official post,
everything's just guesstimates.

Maybe patch 1.11, maybe not. I personally would activate it probably just
before or with the release of the expansion.
