I've always done it manually, more timeconsuming but scanning down the
addon list in order of last updated lets me notice new addons that
look useful too, so it has its benefits! I hate when things get
"improved" though, it's very rarely an improvement for the user...

Curse clients do not work.
The Twitch client is MUCH better. It takes, usually, SECONDS to update
all my addons.
I use it for nothing else. Launch it, click "Update all" and then quit
it.

The old add-on client was a wretched piece of shit that failed to work
often, was super slow, and left shit running on your computer after it
"quit".
