Anyone done the attunement for this yet? Boss-type mob who, if you're
attuned, you get a world quest for a mount or pet, with an incredibly
hidden and obscure series of things you have to do to unlock it; I'm
utterly baffled how players managed to find half these things, a few I
could see people accidentally discovering (although not working out
the significance; most of them you can't even see the orb, it's just a
random cave), but some are insanely hard to find, I frankly don't
think they're findable by normal exploring!

Thought I'd have fun and start with just a list of coordinates, not to
make it too easy... well, that lasted till orb #4 when I hit the
problem of cave entrance nowhere near orb location, which was what my
list gave, and surely it wasn't going to be out in the fatigue water?
Yes, yes it was. So I switched to MMO-C's list which was a bit more
informative... still got stuck on #7 and had to Google for more info,
as for #9 I had to resort to a video to show me the way through! No
way anyone found those by accident, just no way lol.

Still it was a fun way to spend 3 hours or so exploring, although I do
think the evil insanely hard-hitting mobs inside a couple of the caves
are a tad unfair; I had neither enough burst dmg to kill one of them
before it killed me, or a silence to make it stop nuking for 600k a
hit... only took 3 deaths to get the orb lol. At least the other one
was shackleable so I didn't need to find out how hard he hit.

if any of you fancy a shot, don't be surprised if you need to Google
for more detail though lol :-)

I do love these super-hidden things, it's fun to see people trying to
work out how to find them, no chance I'd get anywhere though, so I'll
just wait for other people to find them for me. At least reading
comments on some of these explained why I'm failing to find my
Adventurer of Highmountain rare mobs, apparently nobody's found two of
them (I hadn't looked them up yet, thinking surely I'll run across
them if I look harder; since I like exploring it's a fun challenge to
find these things without addons on my main!)

I read about it a few days ago. clicking 4 orbs in the right
combination. Cant be that hard, ;) But you will need a few peeps for
the boss.

Btw. I made my rocfeather skyhorn kite today. Very usable toy!

Yeah, at present there's loads of people hanging around the boss area
at busy times, it seems to be crossrealmed (must be, there were more
Alliance than Horde around and I'm used to 95% Horde...), so it's not
a problem right now - in a couple of months when most interested
people have the mount and pet, it might be another matter though,
unless they make the worldquest give something else useful like gear
if you already have them!

That's a fantastic toy, even after the cd got increased I still use it
a lot, saves on wasting goblin gliders! The goblin glider has a longer
duration so if you want to jump off a *really* high cliff with
control, better to use those, but the kite is great for most things.

Also have to mention my most loved and used item of the expansion:
Flight Master's Whistle http://www.wowhead.com/item=141605 - port to a
flightpath on a 5 mins cd is so so useful, and makes worldquests a lot
less annoying when on the ground. I see finding my way to the quest as
just a part of the quest really, so that's fine with me, but having to
fight your way back out afterwards is pretty annoying; the whistle
completely solves that problem for anything that's not underground (so
ok, Falanaar tunnels are still rather annoying... :-P )

Yes, I love this items and am using it as much as possible in the
assumption that the instant Blizzard figures out how useful it is the
cooldown will go from 5 min to 5 hours.

Its extremely useful! :) That whistle makes the flying skill somehow
obselete.

Do you only fly to flight paths? I fly between locations within
Stormwind, Ogrimmar, and Thunder Bluff in order not to have to
negotiate the maze of streets and bridges (it's pointless in
Ironforge, Undercity, and Exidor, as you have to follow the "streets"
anyway.)

Hehe no. :) but since we cant fly in Broken Isles the whistle makes the
flying skill more or less obselete there.

Yeah, it basically means we miss it much less, at least, I do; in fact
I find myself summoning ground mounts in places I can fly now, amazing
how quickly you get used to it :-) Very happy with that whistle, it
hits a very good middle ground IMO, I'm sure the people who really
really love flying will disagree though!
