Post by 't.exist.com (Peter James)I've been playing Warcraft for so long now I'm finding it rather boring.
My Alts usually follow the main story line and by the time they've
achieved level 75 or thereabouts I'm fed up with them.
PvP doesn't appeal, neither does role playing and I don't do raids or
other team events, mainly from ignorance on how to behave and act.
So I thought I might look for another game to play. So can anyone
recommend an alternative, hence the header.
Peter
I've been out now since October last year. Once a month or so, I lurk
check the group here to see if anything is going on, see the threads and
don't even read them as they don't interest me now. I have to say I
thought I'd go through withdraws quitting cold turkey one night, but I
haven't missed it at all - not even an itch - which tells me I was done
I guess. I can tell you I've caught up on much needed sleep over the
last 5 months. :)
As far as other games, my biggest concern may not be yours, so I don't
know if it will interest you. I didn't want to get sucked into a
another time hog (my concern). I actually have gotten into a
tablet/phone app (f2p) similar to clash of clans, but in my opinion
better called "Castle Clash". I haven't paid one dime for it and while
it takes me longer to build up things because of it, it doesn't stop me
from advancing, like clash of clans. It also reminds me a bit of the
older warcraft I and II, where you build and improve your towns, run
dungeons, raid other player areas, run an arena, and have your own town
attacked by the computer to earn rewards if your defenses hold up and
join guilds where you can fight bosses. It only requires 10-15 minutes
here and there throughout the day so it's perfect for me. The major
thing is that you don't control your characters. Your the general
placing them in the filed of battle and deploying them at the right
times, so it's a thinking/strat game more than a POV rotations WoW type
game.
This is probably the game types I'm going to stick with for a while. My
family enjoys me around more, it's easily mobile as we travel RV'ing in
the summer (so no worries about missing a raid, etc) and the such.
I may come back to WoW for 60 days at some point as someone gave me a 60
day card as a birthday gift, not realizing I had quit. So I may save
that if I get the itch when the next expansion comes out....Or I might
"re-gift" it to my friend that still plays every now and then...
Have fun all!
