I just bought Wild Star and I'm downloading the game while I write this.
There has been lots of WoW'ish mmorpg games now and then, but all of
them never rally appealed to me.

29% atm. I tell you more about it later tonight (its 640pm here in
Denmark) or maybe tomorrow. :)

Well. I dont know what to tell. I've played it for 4 hours and just
hit level 7. And no doubt its a WoW clone in every aspect. Some
elements actually feels better in WS and especially the combat system is
nice. If you attack something you have a cone on the ground in front of
you. This cone is also your cast bar which is a huge improvement
compared to the combat system in WoW!
So I dont know what to say. It *is* WoW in space! There is a noob area
for new chars where you learn most of the basic in-game mechanics and
here you also realize there is nothing much new compared to WoW.
The only element that nags me is the quest log and tracker. There are
ordinary questgivers. But there are also quests you get once you enter
a new area. If youre lost you just press M and check your map. Anyway!
It is not clear when you have completed a quest and when not. And
there are a few other things that make questing a little confusing. But
I'm sure this will be fixed. :)

If youre tired of WoW and youre looking for an alternative this might be
a good choice.

Maye it will be 'fixed', it depends if they want to adopt the 'following
yonder star' quest play on rails or leave it open.
In wow leaving for a few weeks/months/years it is still hard to know
what this and that item is for in game.
The glowing quest items is *wonderful* but without wowhead it would be
very difficult to pickup where you were. How long did it take for that
to be fixed? :-)

Does it have repgrinds to X to get gear or do they have progression is
smooth and determine discount?

What you have said does illustrate just how good wow is , a lot of
people measure mmo in how similiar to wow it is :-)

I find new games are fun just *because * it is all new, the awe of
discovery is a big part. Wow have very little of that now, simply
because of repetition and familiarity. With each xpac it starts on a new
level which is good but it also diminishes all the previous.

Exactly. The exploring part in a new game is always a temporary
feeling. nonetheless I can cancelled my WoW supscription a few hours
ago. Not because I've bought WS. But because its the same repititive
actions again and again. And I bet it will be the same in WS.
I've never really played the Cata expansion, but I bought a month,
leveled my main to 85 and quitted. In those 30 days I saw a little of
the new content and I felt that was enough for me.

I also stopped because my guildleader was an arsehole to me so I left
the guild a few days ago and gave up a spot in the best 10man raid team
I ever have been a part of. But thats another story. :)
