Problem with priest's Mind Control & Discord Action Bars

Mind Control is a spell I use infrequently, so I was a bit
suprised when I MC'd a mob recently and found I had no way to use
that mob's abilities (other than movement).

I'm using Discord Action Bars as a replacement for the usual
button UI but, as far as I can see, DAB doesn't have a bar that
displays the MC'd mob's ability icons. I would have expected to
see them in the Pet Bar, but I have the Pet Bar visible and at no
time did they show any icons.

I even went as far as removing all mods, installing just the
latest DAB, then trying to MC some low-level mobs with *all* DAB
buttons displayed; I got nothing that looked like my new "pet"'s
abilities.

Are there any priests here using DAB? Do you have the same
problem? If you have it working, which bar shows the abilities?
Which version of DAB do you have?

This is very annoying, but I'd rather lose Mind Control than go
back to the standard button UI!

Is it a pet bar thing? Maybe theres an option to enable the pet bar, this
should show the attack options available to you.

I love MC, especially in ZF where you can Hex the mobs and turn them into
frogs!

Are you sure the mobs you mind control has any abilities (beyond the
simple "attack")? If no, then try some spellcasters.

If yes, then try to ask on the forum at http://www.discordmods.com/ -
they should (hopefully) be able to provide more help.

Yes, indeed.
I disabled DAB, MC'd the same mob I was trying before using the
standard UI, and there were 2 extra icons on the "pet bar" (or

Yes, indeed.

I tried (briefly, obviously) to see if the mod had a homepage, but
without success... I must try harder!

I've never played a priest and don't know anything about how this spell
works, so this may not be helpful. That said, I do use DAB and I've found
that if you have hide empty buttons & (or?) collapse empty buttons selected
for a bar, newly added icons don't always display (I typically have to
deselect and reselect these to get the bars to adjust to a new
configuration). Also, if using the skill adds 2 new icons to the bar I
wonder whether this is affected by the lock bar options?

I'd try disabling the locking options and the collapse and hide ones and see
if that helps.

Great idea! I do tend to hide empty buttons, so this may be the cause
of my problem.

Well, I got it working last night, thanks to a reply on the forum at
Discord Mod's home page. (Thanks to whoever posted the link to there!)

It turned out that Discord Action Bars doesn't get along with
CT_barmod, which I had installed as part of CTMod. I disabled
CT_barmod, and now, lo and behold, there are icons on my pet bar
when I MC a mob!

Now no humanoid mob is safe! Muhahahaha!

I use the discord abilities thru the Insomniax interface. While I do not
use MC very frequently, when I do the MOB's controls appear in the enemy
icon/bar.

If you're having trouble, there is a doc called "Group Buttons" obtainable
from the Discord web site. Check the doc in order to ensure that the click
frames are properly configured. I had a lot of trouble myself trying to get
the buttons to work correctly.
