Argent Dawn Rep

I'm quite confused on how patch 1.9 affected the ability to earn rep with
the Argent Dawn. Before the patch, once you reached about halfway past
honored, you only received rep for either turning in stones, tokens,
cauldron quests or named elites. After 1.9, you are supposed to now be able
to hunt normal mobs for rep until you get to revered. So, since 1.9, I have
tried farming in WP and EP different level mobs and sometimes I received rep
and sometimes not. The problem is, I can't seem to determine what mobs will
give rep. Even in Browman's Mill (sp?), the area just north/west-ish of
Light's Hope, where the mobs are pretty much 57-60, I received rep only once
in awhile. I could not find a pattern to it. There must be a level minimum
for the mobs (I'm at 60 myself) and I assume they have to be humanoid types,
although I believe any mobs involved with cauldron areas are pretty much
humanoid. In the end, I thought I could probably do both cauldron quests,
scourgestones and mob killing rep all at the same time, but no dice.

Can anyone please enlighten us all on what mobs will now gain faction with
AD for a 60 already honored but not revered?

Thanks all,

You can hunt normal mobs until you turn Honored, and then run instances
until you turn Revered. Named mobs will give you rep all the way to
Exalted.

So, if you're Honored, working to get Revered, then it's "Level 60 LFG for
Strat, Scholo". I can't remember there being any elite undead outside of
instances. Or, just grind Scourgestones until your eyes bleed.

There are *some* elites outside but not many; in Plaguewood I've spotted
lvl 58 or thereabouts ones inside tower things. Haven't had the guts to try
attacking one yet; I'm struggling enough to kill normal mobs my own level
without trying elites (this is the first time I've had equipment that's
well below my level and ouch it's showing! ;-))

Very happy with the rep changes btw, as it should now be a lot easier than
before! I've been grinding and got to about 2500/6000 Friendly, will keep
going until Honoured, and only then will I start doing Strat and Scholo (my
logic being if I'm going to do them enough times that I get sick of them, I
may as well delay starting until it'll give me the maximum benefit, ie it's
the only way left to get the rep ;-)) Looking forward to that antivenom
recipe at Honoured; I'm so sick of gargoyles and their bile poison!

No.

Previously, normal mobs would give you rep until halfway through
friendly. Elite mobs would give you rep until halfway through honored.

Now, normal mobs give you rep all the way to the end of friendly. Elite
mobs give you rep all the way to the end of honored.

I'm surprised you ever got rep outside of Scholomance or Stratholme if
you are already honored. I wasn't aware of any mobs out there that would
do so, but then again, some of the very top ones drop Invader's
Scourgestones rather than Minion's ones, maybe they also give rep when
you are honored?

Can't test myself I'm afraid since I'm already revered.

Cheers!

Nope. Since the patch, I have received rep for killing normal mobs in WP/EP
and I'm only 1500 from Revered. This was confirmed by a few others I
discussed with as I tried the grind. That was the whole point of the change
in the patch, allowing normal mob rep until Revered. Again, the question is
what normal mobs work?

You'll have to tell me which mobs you killed that gave you rep, because I
don't buy it.

Named mobs, rare spawns, elites. You should not be getting any rep at all
from generic non-elite mobs at that level.

Well, I'm not going to say you're wrong, since I don't have a
not-yet-Revered character handy to test with, but I will say: that was
absolutely NOT the whole point of the change, and NOT what is documented
in the patch notes.

- Reputation caps for killing monsters now happen at the end of a
level, rather than in the middle of it. For example: if reputation
gains for killing a monster were previously capped at the middle of
the range for Friendly on a monster, then they are now capped at the
end of Friendly.

Normal mobs in WP/EP were previously capped at the middle of Friendly,
and now SHOULD be capped at the end of Friendly. If they're giving you
rep and you're deep in Honored, then the patch notes have failed to
reflect reality (not for the first time).

Cheers!

AFAIK, Shadowmages are the *only* EPL/WPL mobs that give you rep once you
reach Honored. And at a whopping 5 reputation per kill, you'll be farming
those mobs for a long, long time before you reach Revered, let alone
Exalted.

Baron runs are your best bet once you get Honored. You can count on almost
1000 reputation per dead Baron.
