I have been told by guildies that this talent is pointless and claim
they noticed no difference between when they had it and when they got
rid of it. They also indicated that it's worth is debated on message
boards. However I was looking at some of the message boards and
everybody seems to use it.

Anybody know the truth of it?

I can't directly answer your question, particularly since I don't have
much experience with playing a rogue. What I have read indicates that
the maxed (5/5) talent is equivalent to being 3 levels higher, for
detection purposes. So, we could instead ask, do you find it any
easier to remain stealthed around enemies of level N or N-3?

At level 60 I find that without it other classes become aware of me alot
more often. It has a large roll to play in Rogue vs. Rogue combat as
well. Most Rogues I know always use it. Camo 5/5 & MOD 5/5. But it
really depends on your play style.

If you are good enouph in PvP to allways approach your target from
behind, then the chances are that they wont see you. But, if you are
faced with multiple opponents (BGs). Also keep in mind that PvP is not
PvE, you can't predict what a given person is doing or thinking.

I put 5 points into this talent for the rogue poison quest - I had to
pickpocket someone a couple lvls higher than me. He constantly detected me
when I was several yards away and behind him. After taking this talent it
only took one try. So it definitely works. Whether it has any uses besides
this quest I can't say, but it looks from Ramon's post as if it wasn't a bad
idea to take this talent.

I was surprised to get through that one with no points in it - I meant to
put one in but forgot and used it on something else... was detected first
time but second time worked no problem. Got through the rest of it ok as
well, despite being only 20 - I think I was lucky though :-)

I don't how handy it will be after level 60. I'm a 47 rogue, and I can
tell it's real handy for sneaking by stuff I don't want to fight.
Definitely worth having while leveling.

I've got 3 points in it so far and it seems to make a difference - I had no
trouble at 26 getting close enough to Naraxis (27 silver elite spider) to
cheap shot her last night, anyway, and given she turned round to face me at
the time I probably would have been detected without it.

It does make a noticable difference. However those points could be
better used elsewhere IMO.

Camo and MoD are great if you like to stealth around dungeons exploring
and pickpocketing. Or skulk around TM distracting horde.
