Improved minimap addon?

In the non-flying world of WoD, I find seeing my minimap is a lot more
important than it used to be. I'm still using the default one.

But... I frequently find that I'm a bit confused as to what direction my
pointer on that map is pointing - a lot of the times it doesn't
constrast with the background, and at others there's a lot of clutter
around it. I have a big, high resolution screen, and the map is a fairly
small circle some distance away (and my eyes aren't what they used to be).

I could fix this by making the map rotate, so I'm always heading 'up', but
a lifetime of map reading in the standard north-up orientation makes that
unpalatable.

Are there any minimap addons that make the arrow more visible?

Pretty sure the addon Sexymap will do exactly what you want. If I
remember correctly, it even will keep "north" as the direction you're
facing if you need that.

I"m trying Cinchilla. I can't see a way to customize
the pointer so I can see it better.

I don't want the minimap to turn, just the pointer.
I've been reading maps in the correct orientation
(north up) for 50 years, and find the rotating version
very disorientating (same on my car gps systems).

Chinchilla is pretty customizable. For as little as I play it's often
more annoying than not, but it's still better than the default.
