yu'lon's bite vs woshoolay's final choice (arcane mage)

So I recently returned to the game and have been farming rep and timeless
coins + 2 first wings in soo/lfr. that's it. But that yu'lon's trinket
is a _535_ thing. And with 31k coins in the wallet so... :)
I know crit isnt a useful stat for arcane mages. But doesnt it give me a
dps increase no matter what even after reforged to mastery or even haste?

Trinkets are really meant for situation, they aren't either/or , swap them
for current needs.

thats really the only point of the post, the rest is ignorable

Second, since I am here anyway , I know the very old game , the numbers are
vague and possibly very wrong.
I don't know you can reforge procs?

The second reforged gives ~50% less overall int but has a semi regular
medium length burst if you have good reactions and things to apply.
Depends how much hit you have and can afford to lose , left as hit it is
~20% average int not counting using the burst and crits on that.

For consistent and higher int the first seems better.

Personally with lag or a lot of thing happening I would usually go for
consistency, missing a proc peak is worse loss than a few percent average
missing.

True. I just looted the blazing chest and got a timeless curio and the
almost guaranteed burden of eternity. But I consider using the the
burden thing on a timeless signet as my second ring is an upgraded 516
(522) item. Everything else besides the 510 wushoolay trinket is pre5.4
530/543 gear. Hmmhmmmmm...

Btw! I've read that I should be able to cross the broken bridge to the
Ordon Sanctuary when I wear the legendary ilvl600 cloak which I have. I
cant cross it. Why? Have I misunderstood something? Do I do something
wrong? Do I need a click a big red button or what? :)

You should just get flown over when you walk up to the broken end of
the bridge. No need to wear the cloak btw, or even possess it on the
character, so long as *one* of your characters has it - my alts get
flown over as well. You have to walk right up to the end though, so
perhaps you just aren't going close enough to the trigger spot?

Odd. I cant. I stay in the middle of the path and keep running to the
edge. And dooooooooown. :) A guildie came by and he jumped over the
bridge as expected. But he cant jump back as supposed. So something
may be bugged on my realm. I'll ticket blizzard.

able to, it's a one-way thing. Are you sure you have the legendary 608
cloak and not the epic lvl 600? Probably a really stupid question, but
it's the only obvious explanation I can see, although I'm sure you do
know the difference!

Could also be worth trying stopping at the edge and not keeping
running, if you're a bit laggy perhaps you're already falling and it
doesn't get a chance to notice you there. You've probably tried that
too though!

ah, yup - that'd do it. The legendary is the cloak you get at the
(nearly) end of the wrathion quest line. Put it in a nut shell, if you
collected all your sigils, tokens, secrets, thunder forge scenario, the
spec driven fight with one of the 4 celestials, the collection of
another 12 somethings, then defeat all 4 celestials on the Waste of
Time, I mean...Time lost Island (all with quests that direct you along
the way) do you go back to Wrathion and get your legendary cloak....

Two celestials down so far. Im on a small server so the worldbosses
here has their pretty long breaks between the fights. :) But youre
right. After spending maybe 15 hours on waste of time I have realized
this island IS an unavoidable waste of time. Geez... I cant see any
reason to farm rep for Shaohao unless there are better rewards than the
rep oddities from the Shaohao QM. I hit friendly status with Shaohao
yesterday.

get a better in this friday's flexi party. And the other trinket with a

It's just one for completists I reckon... which is why I can't
understand why it's 100% permacamped to the point where it's a waste
of time even trying on my server lol. I know it's a high pop server
and we have a few collectors, but I don't get why there's so very
many, even over a month in! My plan is to do it sometime next
expansion, when it quietens down a bit (and I can manage to kill the
elites without getting one-shot :-P)

Don't blame you :-) I'm a completist type so I have plenty reasons to
still go, but I'm taking a break atm, been playing with alts and
transmog sets this week, because there's limits to how long I can
spend camping rares for pets which never drop before I go mad ;-)

Nah, several of them, I just always manage to choose the one who
doesn't spawn and curse as I see all the others spawn! :-) Still
needing pets from Bufo, Jadefire Spirit, Garnia and Gu'chi, and
haven't get all the rare drops from many of the other rares, so I have
plenty of choice, just it's a bit frustrating when I almost always
pick the wrong one to wait for (they die too fast on my server to be
able to move to them after they spawn). The addon's handy for showing
which are likely to spawn soon, but if there's a bunch all on about 30
mins, picking the one which actually will spawn soon is pure luck :-P

Im not really a completist. Nonetheless I have hit exalted on every
faction in Panda World. But this isle... :)
Well. Its different for me now. Before I took a break in august I was
online like 5-12 hours a day. Now I maybe play 1-3 hours every second
day. Tomorrow its flexi raid (new for me) and Im actually quite fine
with not playing that much. A "slight" change in my priorities. :)

100,000 coins for the mount and basically and endless supply of alt
gear. I have nearly a full set for both my hunter and my shaman, and I
have enough leather to equip one and a half leather-wearers (of which I
have none). Very little plate for my Paladork so far.

My mage hit 90 not very long ago, but is now wearing either 489 or 492
iLvl almost entirely because of the island (including a 535 Chest).

That might explain it :-) Go and talk to Wrathion again, else check
your questlog and see if you're already on the rest of the chain,
hopefully there won't be a whole lot left for you to do!

You don't just get one, it is Legendary, meaning you have a legendary amount
of time to spend one it.
I thought that was the case , i,e, you were a grind monkey, when you said
you had it after only starting again recently.

Congrats! :-D Hopefully he'll give you something better next week - I
got bracers my first ever time fighting him and double gold every week
since lol (given his gear's ilvl compared with LFR gear it's a
nobrainer to use a coin on him every week for me :-)), only exception
was the week he gave me... another pair of bracers. *Sigh* :-P
