Men
nej.

https://www.wowhead.com/npc=150583/rockweed-shambler#comments

mig hurtigt. Hunteren kom frem.

Paladinen i chatten "NOOO FFS"

ROFL! That was ment for a mail to a friend! :D And I can't cancel my
post lol...

Anyhoo! I'm farming rares in Nazjatar for the mount. I need Soundless,
Zodia and Rockweed Shambler. So I decided to read up on the shambler.
It seems to be a super duper ultra mega rare monster!

Well... He spawned when I killed my first algon. And I'm not gonna
tell about it on wowhead. :>

Lol you lucky person! I didn't try farming for him bigtime (although I
did sometimes kill every algan I passed without luck) but one day was
just flying around mining and found him just sitting there with nobody
around, couldn't believe my luck! Only nobody in the map was remotely
interested when I shouted it in general, not sure if it was an empty
map or something but sigh. Anyway, tried it myself, thinking hey, I
can usually handle rares, he's not that much higher health than
most... small problem... he selfheals every time he hits 50%. I don't
have an interrupt, and I can't outdps his heal. Still nobody in the
map interested, had to open a group in group finder and hope...only
one guy came but luckily he did have interrupts and we got him, phew!
Would've absolutely sucked to not be able to kill him given how rare
the spawn is...

Now my only missing one is Anemonar. Takes a group to make him
attackable (or maybe one very skilled person, which I am not), haven't
seen any yet. Guess I need to just camp the group finder sometime, I'm
sure groups must form for him occasionally, but they're never up when
I remember to look!

I managed to tag the colossal sky ray 3-4 days ago thanks to flying. No
goblin glider needed here. Mage + slow fall. But I had to time it
precisely.

There is a ledge somewhere near Newhome where the colossal ray are close
(but still too far away from tagging). Mount up, fly out in a straight
line and a little up so the ray are between you and the ledge:

you are flying here here X

sky ray X

ledge
-------/

Land Slowfall Autorun towards
here immediately tag ray the ledge
---<---<---<---<---<---<---<---<---<---<---<---<---<- direction <--

Now autorun towards the ray, slow fall, tag the ray while mounted (you
dismount automatically), slowfall towards the ledge.
Autorun is the vector brings you towards the ledge when you use slow
fall. It has to be timed tight, but its doable. I guess I had 15-20
attempts before it worked.
The kiting part to Anemonar was fairly easy. But don't use Vim
Brineheart as a helper as he occasionally summons a giant that takes
aggro from you and the kiting stops until the giant disappears again.
If your helper takes aggro from you just rightclick your buff and he
disappears. The ray doesn't hit hard at all.
Now kite him all the way to anemonar and let the ray use all his
abilities while he is over him and the nuke the ray down. Once the ray
dies Anemonar wakes up. At this point you should have 1-2 bypassers who
helps you anyway.

A priest came by and helped me while I kited the ray. She also needed
Anemonar. :)

If you dont have a mage in your roster a slowfall pot can be an
alternative solution. I've never used those though so I don't know
whether they're working as good as mage's slow fall.

Now the big question. How did people figure out that you had to tag and
kite a colossal sky ray to Anemonar???

Wrong order.

1. autorun/fly towards the ray _and_ ledge
2. tag the ray (auto dismount)
3. slowfall to ledge (while using any auto-attack or other
insta-abilities to keep him tagged)

Thanks, sounds potentially doable, if tricky - I don't have a mage but
my main is a priest, and levitate = slow fall ;-) Sounds like a
headache to achieve but can I give it a go sometime anyway, I haven't
quite finished a couple of others so it's not currently my last for
the meta achievement, will be soon though!

Hah yeah, that is a crazy one to figure out in the first place, I'm
often left wondering how anyone figured out the way to do things to
begin with! I tend to use wowhead after failing to work it out for
myself... else install an addon with the info lol, but how people
figured it out in the first place...

According to

<https://www.wowhead.com/npc=152566/anemonar#comments:id=3200436>

this item

<https://www.wowhead.com/item=170182/voltscale-shield>

should be able to tag the ray as it should have a long distance.

I dont think I have ever had this item in my bags. Hmm.. But I bet
there are other items in the game that can tag a mob on a long distance.
Probably items from previous expansions. At least a bell rings here.
