annoyances in WoW

1) There are no windows on second floor in the shrine which you can use
as a landing area! So you have to be lucky with flying through the main
door and hope you wont get dismounted before you land in front of the
tier vendors if you need quick access to your bank.

2) If you have done the Theramore scenario and you portal yourself to
Theramore afterwards the nearest flight points is 2 mins of flight-time
away. You can talk to the NPC and the bridge outside the city and he
will bring it back to old times and thereby you save a minute. But when
you log out and in again you have to talk to him again.

3) The flight route to and from Timeless ALWAYS goes via Dawn's Blossom.
So if you want to do a quick portal to Stormwind by using the portal
in Dawson's Village because your HS is on CD you get a scenaric tour
through the most of Jade Forest. Why, why, WHY?

4) Uhm... There are MANY more annoyances in the game. :)

I've flown through the side door, up the stairs, and got within activation
range of the Stormwind portal before being dismounted, but it's hard.
You get dismounted if you touch anything.

I think I've heard that flightlines will be more direct in WoD. Frankly,
I wish there was a portal option for flightlines you'd already flown once.

Having no flying in WoD is just asinine. I played briefly on the level
100 beta servers but couldn't get around the fact that I was walking
everywhere. At least one of the head-up-ass developers seems to think
this is a good thing, but my sub expires right around when WoD drops and
I'm not renewing.

They want to create the sense of wonder and epicness.
The feel of a new world you get when you have one character and finding
your way in a new world.
Now that many players have many characters, just levelling them can be a
bit daunting. The gloss rubs off very quickly.

I assume because even I have 5x90 that most people have manic
completionist streaks, that may be wrong. Maybe most players only have a
couple of 90s.
I only started playing again last Christmas with 4 80s and got them to
90 in a few weeks.
Now 5, plus another with Wod , 6 characters to level for a very casual
player is a lot of worn out gloss.
I could just concentrate on one *, but the others WILL BE
INCOMPLETE!!,woe is me.

* assuming I get interested. I want to play, it just seems there are
better things to do today. Play tomorrow, yes I will resub tomorrow, or
maybe next week, after I put that retaining wall in. The better half
gets back next week, goodness me look at the floors, who brought all
that mud in, must have been the cat, naughty cat with its size 13
bootprints :-) etc etc

So far on beta I've got that feeling back - it's fantastic, so many
things hdden away in little corners that my levelling speed is now
ridiculously slow, because I keep wandering off to explore, haven't
felt like this since vanilla really. Massive hit with me so far, we'll
see if it remains that good after a while at max level, but certainly
having flying off until 6.1 will be fine by me, it's extremely fun at
present.

I only have 4 non-ironman 90s, used to have way more alts but oP
actually gace enough endgame stuff outside raids for me to focus on my
main more than usual!

I suspect most casual players only level 1-2, exteme completism and
casual tend not to be compataible ;-) I call myself casual, but it's
more "don't raid/pvp", since I put a very non-casual amount of time
into WoW. I just do the stuff that isn't primarily populated by the
"hardcore" players!

It is a game though, we know the rules so while some things may seem
annoying there are likely downsides to other ways. As long as everyone
has the same disadvantages it can work, but yes Pvp is very exploitable
in wow. Hence the very annoying ganking and tricks.

In some games attack and defence capability decreases with health and/or
gear takes a lot of expensive damage with appropriate decrease in effect.
Add an hour or more recovery time and even with open world PvP people
end up being very very careful.
Each combat and move becomes very important but you don't get ganked
just on a whim. Everybody in a battle is really putting resources and
effort into being there even if they aren't quite magnificent.

Even though losing you can make their victory very pyrrhic, like setting
off a grenade, the extra damage increases your recovery time to 2 hours
but they are now weak as a critter for an hour. But you may not use the
grenade because although you want this bastard to pay the splash may
take down your own people as well. Suicide bombers make holding
objectives a *real* pain.

Sounds wonderful?, nope, it can be very very painful and people just
skip to alts so it pretty much turns it into just another time waster.
The one where you had to be online and in character to spend recovery
time was very very painful, it was pretty much a profession game with
most time spent basket weaving and repairing gear while the health
recovered. Not actually much fun for a game particularly since recovery
time decrease, medpacks and bandages, was the revenue stream.

4) Items that cant be vendored! I'm farming the Bloodlust gear set for
my shammy in Silithus. A single run in both AQ raids fills up your bags
with Scarabs, Idols and other oddities with blazing speed and you have
to delete them manually one by one.

The idols and scarabs do stack, although there are so many different
kinds that you'd need a lot of bag space anyway.

True. But loads of other junk drops in the AQ raids too just filling up
valuable bag space.
I just found the Trashcan addon at Curse. It deletes specific items the
same second you auto-loot them. Together with the Battle Horn that
drops on Timeless I'm armed for item farming! Awesome addon! :)

There are addons on curse to do that.
http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/category/bags-inventory
one is 'recycle bin'
'slashdeleteall' may do something
I haven't used any I can see, I had one ages ago but got a bit carried
away once with a couple of high value stacks.
Oh, that isn't one of my bags..doh.

To be fair though they are usually quest items and it stops accidental
disposal.
Most things that would be a good idea in some circumstances aren't
usually good all the time and the software can't read minds or actually
understand what you are doing.
When grinding at level they usually accumulate slowly.
When running 5000% overkill, literally, they drop like rain but that
wouldn't be a big gameplay consideration, otherwise they may do
something like adjust droprate for overlevels.
That wouldn't be popular at all :-).

Nope, there are all sorts of classes of items that cannot be sold. Or
worthless items that you must type "DELETE" to remove (and I mean items
that were never ever useful, like the lvl 71 epic from archeology that
was 15 levels out of date when it was first added to the game).

And Quest items should go away when you turn in the quest, which they
often do. But not always.

Same as in TBC you had to go to the right parts of Outland to make
various cloths (one was SMV, one Netherstorm, one Zangarmarsh, iirc) -
flavour. I believe that requirement is removed with WoD (6.0), like it
was removed from the TBC ones when it was no longer current content.

It's annoying though, my tailor tends to live in the Halfhill Inn when
I'm working on recipes. Only half a dozen or so to go but I'm out of
cloth, dammit :-P

Also if you wanted to use one of your three alchemy specializations in

when Lich king woke up.

Haven't done a high level tailor. But my herb/alch had a similar thing
going for a long time - gather whiptail in uldum, which has quite a lot
of Volatile Life as a bycatch. The VL can be converted to Volatile Fire,
Water, Air, or Earth by going to Hyjal, Vash'ir, Uldum, or Deepholm,
using Transmute: Living Elements.

Volatiles used to sell very well, and this was my main's main source
of income for a couple of years.

Interesting. Alcaz Island is connected to the destruction of Theramore
somehow. I've been genociding the mobs on Alzac for a few days now as I
farm the Bloodlust chest (bloody low droprate).
Today I had to reactivate Theramore to before the destruction.
Otherwise there are no mobs on Alcaz Island at all. -.-
