WOD Horde Intro

The Horde intro to WOD is much more complete (or maybe just much more
better?) than the alliance one. By the time I got to building the
barracks in my Garrison I was already 93% (or 97%) through level 90. No
where near that on the Alliance side.

I'm sure there's lots of lore being shoved at you as well, the only
thing I noticed is that Thrall doesn't seem to be a god anymore.

It shouldn't be like that, since the Tanaan intro is just the same for
both sides, and the quests up to the garrison are likewise, almost the
same (think Horde may have one more; I don't recall an equivalent to
the Horde one where you rescue the tauren from the gronn). So, exp
ought to be much the same on both sides... but yes, I felt like Horde
was faster to 91 as well. Not sure why that is!

Hehe not so much lore yet, I found a lot more story on alliance side
so far, Horde was interesting, but more action than story. At least so
far as I've got, I'm 92 now but still working through the zone, not
sure how far there is to go now.

Have to say the scenery in Frostfire Ridge is amazing, it hadn't
caught my eye much from static screenshots, but when you're actually
there looking at it, with the wind effects blowing across the snow,
the amount of detail in the rocks and so on, wow, I love it! I'd
expected Shadowmoon to be my favourite of those two zones lookswise,
but it's a lot closer than I expected; both are amazing, in totally
different ways.

I just did the horde intro and it was *nothing* like the Alliance.
There's a whole sequence where you have to disable these towers, then go
to some other area where you start collecting supplies, then off to a
huge tank where you shoot a bunch of things with the cannon, and on and
on. NONE of that was on the alliance side where I had to click to plant
the alliance flag (this came at close to the end of level 90 for me on
the horde). From THERE the quests were similar, though the "Blade's
Edge" zone is entirely different than SMV.

Alliance do the whole bit you mentioned for horde, before getting to
the bit where you plant the flag - if you didn't do that, then either
you found a way to skip it (wonder if the mini dark portal works if
you've not done the intro) or you entered the alpha before it became
beta, and the Tanaan intro wasn't available. Both sides do exactly the
same stuff around the portal, identical bar one quest, and the only
difference in that is which NPC you rescue.

Huh. I did the Alliance on two toons and it started with "click the flag
to start building the stockade."

Interesting.

Try making a new alliance character, speak to giant Khadgar in SW
trade district (don't just go to the mini dark portal) and see where
he sends you. Should be the same intro experience Horde did; at least
my Alliance character did that on day 1 of the beta. No need to
actually do it again if you cba, since it's exactly the same as Horde
got ;-)

Just gave the above a try myself, can't even see the mini dark portal,
and talking to Khadgar took me to the intro zone, so I'm guessing you
had earlier access than me and did Alliance then, perhaps. Somehow
you've been skipping that bit anyway!
