Question For The Beta TBC Players (Jewelcrafting)

Somebody said that you have to be lvl 58 to get to outland thru the blasted
lands. Does that mean that a lvl 25 undead warlock can not learn
jewelcrafting? Is there no other portal for the lower levels to get to the
lower levels of Outland?

Yep, that appears to be the case.

No, it doesn't mean that, the jewelcrafting trainers are in Exodar and
Silvermoon, so it's only 300-375 that you can't learn until you reach
Outland, in common with all other professions.

Oh, and I don't know if it's been fixed, but earlier in beta it was
possible for warlocks to summon people to Outland, regardless of level. I
ran past a lvl 8 blood elf in Shattrath one day and was just a little
surprised! ;-)

So the only way to get there would be to have a high lvl warlock summon?

*If* it works, but you don't need to anyway, because, as I said, you can
learn jewelcrafting in Exodar or Silvermoon. You don't want to go to
Outland at lvl 25, you'll get killed very very fast.

I'm sorry but I'm not familiar with Exodar or Silvermoon. Where are they
located?

Sorry, I just assumed anyone who'd heard of jewelcrafting would've read
enough about the expansion to know that they are the capitals of the two
new races, and so in the starting zones of those races.

I don't know what faction you are, but if you are Alliance, the Exodar is
the capital of the Draenei, and you can get there by taking the boat from
the pier at Auberdine.

If you're Horde, Silvermoon is the capital of the blood elves, and you can
get there by using the teleporter up in the ruins above Undercity (in the
room on the western side that's just opened up)

You need the expansion to be able to access either city, but once you have
access you can learn jewelcrafting up to level 300 there :-)

The outland thing is correct. However, there is an island you can travel to
from Darkshore which will give you access to the new professions. I assume
that Draenei and Blood Elves will have access to jewelcrafting right in
their starting zones too. *
