Been Alliance for a while, decided to try out a horde. Choose the
Thunderhorn EU server, leveled up a bit and went to the AH, was going to
decide what proffessions to take. There were hardly any listing, well not
compared to Alliance on Stormrage EU. It was strange going into a capital
city and general and trade not being spammed to hell and back. I saw a
handful of level 60's running about so it must be a fairly mature server.

On the plus side peacebloom was selling for 50s a stack, I think its about
15s-20s on Stormrage, typed in a few other herbs and there were none listed.
Although all in all the prices didn't seem that different to Stormrage.

Its a medium pop server like Stormrage, are all horde servers like this, and
is there a server with a high horde population, I guess mainly for end game
instances. Or would this be a good server to stay on since I'm mostly going
to be grinding and take up herbalism and either skinning or tailoring
Or if anyone wants to recommend a EU server feel free.

Silvermoon is by far the most populated PvE server for both alliance and
horde. If you are alliance though, prepare for some serious lagging and
spamming in IF AH area. Ogr is in better shape though.

If you want to go Horde PVP - a good choice is Sunstrider. The ratio
aren't that bad if you play in the evening (1.5 A / 1 H on average,
more like 1.3 A / 1 H at peak hours). It's listed as medium pop, so no
queue at all. And there are welcoming guilds :D. For high-end
instances, there are currently 4 Horde guilds and 4 Alliance guilds
running MC.

It may have changed (the web site's currently showing "realm down, so
I can't check what it currently claims to be), but I've been playing
mostly Horde on Thunderhorn since I started, and for most of that time
it's been listed as "Low Population" and "Technically Full" - which I
take to mean that lots of players are playing multiple toons there.
It *did* show Medium for a while, then dropped to Low again; it's
possible it's gone back up to. I suspect it's at the lower end of
whatever Medium represents, in terms of numbers of accounts with toons
active on it at any one time.

But - Peacebloom 50s a stack? (1) As far as I know (or can see from
Thottbot) it's only used for Alchemy; (2) most Alchemists are
Herbalists as well; (3) any Herbalist can step outside Orgri and pick
the stuff up by the truckload. That sounds rather more like someone
being hopeful than competitive trade pricing.

I guess whether TH is the right server for you depends on what you
want out of the game. Sounds like you're more interested in trade as
a money-spinner than a means to an end, in which case TH Horde may not
have the population to keep you happy (although there's still enough
of it for Orgri to get seriously lagged on a bad evening, and
Ironforge is considerably worse). On the other hand, whilst you were
(as you describe it) levelling up a bit, I'll bet you weren't spending
half your time queueing up to get at the boss mobs, or waiting for
them to respawn for the fifth time. Swings and roundabouts.

Never had that problem playing Alliance on TH also. The sever as a
whole isn't that busy. It is busy enough for me though. I dread to
think what a heavy loaded server like Silvermoon be like!

I should also have said - the Web site icons suggest that Thunderhorn
is "regularly experiencing queues". No.

For the record, I play just about every day, and log multiple toons on
during that time, and I've never, *ever* experienced a queue to get in
(as in "there are x number of people ahead of you", or whatever the
message is - like I say, I've never seen it). Whatever triggers Blizz
into putting that icon on the site, it's an estimate, rather than
fact.

Thunderhorn my server. The stats show it as having a one of the worse
Horde to Alliance ratios. And I can believe it. The Alliance side is
very busy but I see few Horde players. The odd one or two but that's
it.

A good or bad thing? Well I guess if you want to be left alone it can
be good. Although the Alliance do seem to be regularly raiding. Low pop
make it harder to find a group but might make it easier to find people
to consistently play with. Personally if I ever get round to playing
Horde I'll make my toons elsewhere.

Thunderhorn is a "medium" loaded server and generally in the middle of
the "medium" loaded ones.
