Okay so where is this bubble, which skill is it?

Is it Divine Shield?

Like a plate wearer needs a bubble...

A priest I can understand.

Is it Divine Shield?
It is.

Plate does not mitigate magic damage. In PvP, inside that bubble may
be the only time the ever-interruptable Paladin gets to cast anything.
We have some of the fewest CC abilities in the game. A 6-second
duration, 60-second cooldown stun that affects *one* target only.

DS is the only defense we have. It is on a 5-minute cooldown. It is
dispellable. It better be darn good.

But most importantly, how else would we ever complete the [Going
Down?] achievement?

One of my guildies helped me get that one this past weekend in the
sunken temple. My alt was the highest level character there and was
the only one that had survived every mob, at one point being the last
man standing. Later in the center of the temple, we're crossing the
circular area and I fall in the hole, getting killed, I res and
return. Later the paly in my group says we need to go down that hole
and that I should go first, of course I say, "you mean that same hole
that I got killed falling into?" But he bubbled me and I jumped and
got that achievement.

fall damage.

I found out that this worked by accident, when, as I usually do, I
just jumped off Telredor using Divine Shield to save time by not using
the lift. I was rather surprised to see I'd got an Achievement for
it.

Dunno about hand of protection but the old blessing certainly did, had a
pally cast it on my rogue once to get to the Karazhan summoning stone
from the backdoor faster than running down all those steps.

Actually you just have to stand on the bridge and aim carefully so
that you land in the water. In WoW you can drop from any height into
water and take np damage. (Don't try this in RL, folks.)

True but that water is pretty shallow in places so I wasn't complaining
about the free bubble ;-)

Provided that you haven't got the Path of Frost buff, I found out this
weekend on my DK. I didn't die but I took damage which cancelled the
buff.

Path of Frost is a great spell - it lets you treat water as land
unless you get damaged. You can cast it whilst mounted too.

My buddy casted water walking on himself (shaman talent) and decided
to jump off a high ledge into water, lets just say he died when he hit
the water, lol.

Ah, that brings back memories, I once cast Water Walking on my guild
leader during the fish boss in ZG while we were all being thrown up in
the air. He saw the funny side of it... about two weeks later.

My guildie casted a water walking to another guildie at Lurker in SSC. Lurker was about to die so he had little fun. The hunter who got the water walking was bit confused why did he die. After little log reading he started to laugh and shared the info among the raid

Sounds identical to the Shammy waterwalking spell - you can now ride
on water with that as well. With all the underwater quests, I'm really
glad I got both glyphs (water walking and water breathing).

Do DKs get the same number of glyph slots as everyone else?
