Presale: WoD + a lvl 90 char

Interesting. There is no official release date on WoD. But the presale
of the next expansion has started. And the bonus is a lvl 90 char.
This will fill my last empty slot with a warrior on my preferred realm.
I was sure WoD wouldnt be released before august. At best. More likely
in october or maybe even november due to the 10th years anniversary.
Whats your best guess?

The Boost from 60 to 90 is MUCH better than the boost from 1-59 to 90.

I'm going to level my monk (52 ish) to 60 and then pop that boost to
give me the achievement for 5 90's.

Meaning you get profession boosts as well
http://www.wowhead.com/news=230250/warlords-of-draenor-digital-preorder-and-character-boosts-now-available

"Level 1 characters do not receive a "Veteran" bonus--but level 60+
characters receive a profession boost to their existing professions. If
you want specific professions leveled, ensure you've learned them
in-game before starting the boost process."

So, I could have stopped 2 days ago and spent $50 to level the professions.

Nggg nggg, so many options.

but probably option #1 is: do nothing, stop until wod
release, seriously I have holes worn in the new keyboard and everything
is pretty much at end-of-game now.*
If they have paid upgrades then paid professions will be in there
somewhere sooner or later.

*for me, endgame is end-of-game, I can grind like a monkey for weeks on
my own schedule but this daily schedule stuff is...

Hm. True. You have a point there as leveling a char 1-60 is a scratch
in the back compared to leveling many of the profs through vanilla wow
due to ridiculous mat farming.

19 December or the closest Tuesday.

Of course, there were various groups seeking his overthrow, and this was
right and proper and the sign of a vigorous and healthy society. No-one
could call him unreasonable about the matter. Why, hadn't he founded
most of them himself? And what was so beautiful was the way they spent
nearly all their time bickering with one another. Human nature, the
Patrician always said, was a marvelous thing. Once you understood where
its levers were. --Guards! Guards!

They said they're aiming at "Fall" with last possible date 20th
december, but they want it a lot earlier... my guess is September or
October now. I'd hoped for earlier than that, given how long ago SoO
came out, but looking unlikely now. At least if it's October that's my
birthday present from my (WoW-playing) partner decided easily;
collectors edition will do me nicely ;-)

I was wondering, is the lvl90 boost u can get now from pre-ordering instead
of the lvl90 boost you would get anyway when WoD is released? or does
pre-ordering effectively allow you to get 2 lvl90 boosts, one now and one on
release.

https://us.battle.net/shop/en/product/world-of-warcraft-service-character-boost

Which is in the 'shop' menu now.

To me it reads like you get the one boost with wod, by preorder you get
that now.

You can $buy any other boosts and professions you care to arrange, but
since you can get one with pre-order why the hell not get it as well?.
The boost is free or wod is free-ish, depends how you look at it.

"Characters level 60 and higher will also receive a skill level boost to
their primary professions." Note 'profession>s<'. Oh yeah, I select to
instant skillup on mining. I think not.

On the other hand, depends how much of a rush you are in.
A lvl 1, select professions->90 $boost, then another '$boost' 90-90 to
get the professions to pandamax, you could do that now.
I wonder if that would break anything? Give Blizz $, no, nothing wrong
here. :-)

From my own keyhole view, and therefore a good chance not majority.
Lower level items are in for a market shakeup the result depends what
people decide to do and how much they want to pay. The economy will
likely transform from deep and somewhat long term to narrow and ephemeral.
It will probably be more barter for top level items and time rather than
trickle-down and work-up AH.

The more that love the endgame so much they are prepared to $pay not to
play anything but endgame the less attractive it is to anybody else.

If endgame is the great majority, thats Democracy, or maybe
$Plutocracy, or $Capitalism, or the usual random outcome mix.

I level leatherworking (and enchanting) on a lvl 67 rogue atm. My 90
monk is maxed in skinning and LW so he is farming skins in Karazhan atm.
Or he was. I have decided to stop that now as when my rogue hits 350
or 375 in LW its gonna be hard again. Its the same with my lvl 65 pally
who has BS and engineering. Mat farming for those profs are true walks
in the desert. So in a few mins I buy the expansion and boost my rogue
to max. And maybe I also boost my pally.
The next char will be a priest. But thats gonna be a walk in the park
as I have planned inscription and tailoring on this. Clothes drops
everywhere no matter where you go and I already have a scriber so I
jusdt farm a few flowers, mill them and convert them to lowlevel inks in
SW. Im not gonna pay anything for this char. Just ordinary leveling.
Atm I have 3 maxed enchanters. Clothie, mail and platewearer. My rogue
will be the next one. And so far it pays well as I convert all the
timeless gear for DE -> weapon enchants -> AH -> profit (1200-1500g for
a single weapon enchant). Atm I have +200 timeless leather items
waiting for DE... And leveling enchanting 100-525 (especially the Cata
part) is ridicuolous!

I dont feel its wrong as I'm an experienced player already. But new
players seriously needs to level a char from scratch. Otherwise they
will miss a _LOT_ of the in-game mechanics you will get knowledge of
through a first-time leveling. Just like the lvl80 requirement when you
wanted to level a brandnew DK back in the LK days.

A few notes... Im writing as I find new details about the effects from
the boost.

- Leatherworking and enchanting was boosted to 600. WOOHOO! But before
the boost my profs were exactly 300 in LW and 300 in enchanting. So I
have to go to the prof trainers and learn all the new recipes and
patterns. that means I dont know the faction-based recipes and
patterns! That means (again) I have to farm golden lotus rep etc. for
the faction recipes and patterns. Thats good. Because the boosts will
not make a negative impact to the prices on AH.

- Cold weather flying was added as well. But I had to pay the 4.5/5k
for master riding (max speed) depending on guild perk.

- No additional or new factions added in the rep window.

- All my heirlooms were replaced by ilvl 450 greenies and the heirlooms
were found in my mailbox. Thats good. Im gonna replace them with 496
timeless gear very soon.

- I just spent ~1.8k gold on buying all the new recipes and patterns at
the trainers in SW. So learning the patterns from 300 to 600 in two
profs can and probably will be a bit expensive. You can skip all the
lowlevel recipes and patterns and only pay for the panda recipes. But
the prof trainer window will be cluttered with lowlevel recipes until
you decide to spend a goood amount of gold on clearing up the window. :)

- When I logged in after the boost I found my rogue just outside the
Shrine. After checking up my profs I went straight to SW and forgot to
set my HS to the shrine. Stupid.
But the portal for Pandaria in SW are up so you dont have to do the
preliminary quests. Also. When you return to Paw'don village in
Pandaria you have to learn the flight point there. but you already have
the FPs for Shrine, Dawn's Blossom in jade forest and Tushui's landing
on timeless isle. You have to find all other FPs.

- As I start from scratch in Panda world I have to pick up the initial
quests for the garrison faction in Krasarang, thunder isle etc.. Also
if I want to use the farm I have to do the initial quests at Halfhill too.

So basically you get a lvl 90 char with maxed-out profs and coldweather
flying. Thats it. Nothing else. And I really dont complain! =)

Cool. All my 16 slot nethwerweave bags were replaced by 22 slot
embersilk bags. That was a neat surprise. :)

Odd. I checked again. All my new gear is green 483 and not 450. But
the armory says its 450. I just check my guild leader's boosted priest
on the armory. Tooltip says his gear is 450, but overall ilvl is 483
according to the armory. Minor bug.

Sounds to me like they initially thought the gear would be 450, then
decided on 483, but armory has the old 450 values - I imagine it'll
catch up soon :-)

Yes. I also find it odd with green gear at 450 as it normally goes
blue at that level and goes purple at 476. But again. 440 epics drops
from rares. So why not? :)

I'm guessing 483 greens are going to be around the first levelling
gear you get in WoD (or else the gear vendors sell, like you can get
in Cata/MoP levelling zones), hence green not any other colour - after
all, the boost is mainly a WoD feature, it's just available now via
pre-orders.

Leveling to 60 is pretty simple and fast and you don't have to level the

Indeed. Level up until you get access to the first instance. Queue for
instances between 5pm and 10pm. At this time you usually dont wait more
than 1-5 mins even as dps. Quest or just kill random mobs for the extra
exp while you are in a queue.
1-60 is very easy and can be done in approx 15-25 hours of playtime
depending on luck, gear, skills and groups.
