Order of shields?

Anybody knows in which order shields and potions work? For example, if
you have a voidwalker sacrifice shield and a spellstone shield, which
one takes the fire damage from your hellfire first?
What about potion shields? For example, if you have greater fire
protection and PWS, what takes damage first?

I think I've read here once that shields come before everything, even
armor. So, when an MC trash mob hits the shielded tank for 2000 raw
(unmitigated) damage, the first 1000 are going to the shield (given the
shield takes exactly 1000 damage), and the other 1000 go on the tank,
where 60% are mitigated due to armor - so he takes 400 damage.

Correct me when I'm wrong, that's just a thing I think I remember
from here :-)

Indeed, damage reduction comes last, which is a shame for tanks. It used
to be that the shield cast first would be used first, but a few patches
ago Blizzard introduced "priorities" in buffs (to block certain
situations of losing flasks in Naxxramas) so it now may also affect the
order at which shields are consumed. However, I am pretty sure that
shields come before potions, ie PWS will be consumed before Fire
Protection is.
