Discussion:
Tailoring trainer in Azure Watch
(too old to reply)

I just started my first drenai today. In the meantime my mage is level 6 and
has found her way to Azure Watch. I seem to have found pretty much all the
trainers there except for the following three:
- cooking
- skinning
- tailoring

As I would like to take up tailoring, I was wondering if I just missed the
trainer or if it is in a different place (like the skinning trainer in
Teldrassil).

Cheers

It's rather dumb this, but. Some of the profession trainers in the draenai
starting area are at the furbolg village down the road from Azure Watch.
However, you cannot interract with them yet. You must first complete the
level 10 quest chain to learn how to speak furbolg. *Then* you can finally
train those skills.

It's really, really stupid how blizz did that, meaning draenai who want
certain professions cannot begin to level them until they reach level 10.
Skinning is the worst offender, it's a gathering profession! You have to
level to 10 without gathering any skins?!? Why?!? I can see letting you wait
til 10 to start on a crafting profession but at least let me gather the damn
skins prior to L10! The mobs I kill are skinnable, are they not?

Night elves can't learn mining until they leave Darnassus, either.

I discovered last night that Goldshire has a blacksmithing trainer but no
mining trainer... that *really* makes sense, how is anyone going to do any
blacksmithing without metal? :-)

Well, I can't say this for sure, but capitol cities generally have
trainers for all professions. You should be able to visit exodar for
the trainer. This really isn't an uncommon thing. For orcs and
trolls, if you want to learn skinning you have to travel to Orgrimmar
to learn it. I found this out when I visited Razor Hill and asked a
guard about a skinning trainer and was directed to Orgrimmar.

And even if there are no trainers in Exodar, Teldrassil is a short
boat ride away. I'm willing to bet there has to be a skinning trianer
there... what with all the NE hunters around.

Ever play a BE? There aren't too many profession trainers outside of
Silvermoon, and the ones in Eversong Woods are rather scattered
around. If you want to learn enchanting at level 5, it means a trip
halfway across the zone to learn. I think the only skinning trainer
there is in Silvermoon as well.

Just because you are level 5 doesn't mean you can't do a little
traveling to get some stuff done.

Ah well, in that case, I'll just have to take a premature trip to Exodar.

Thanks for clearing this up.

I checked during lunch hour, and this is slightly inaccurate information.
My L9 draenai priest has already completed the language quest. It's offered
at L8, not L10.

It seems that the "Alliance Logging Camp" also has a cooking and tailoring
trainer, but no skinning trainer.

I found this out after having been to Exodar to learn my professions :)

Note that you need to do the quest chain involving the turncoat gnome at
the human camp if you want to do the quest chain on Bloodmyst later that
takes place on the island of dragons and involves the ghost captain.
