Post by A Devragerthanks for your kind help.
I tried to rename the moie file, but it didn't help.
As a matter of fact : I get following error message
I wonder if I can overcome this in anyway ???
What version of DirectX are you running? If you're playing on Win98
you may have too old a version, though I would have thought the
install of W3 would have picked that up. What video card do you have
and are it's drivers up to date? I actually had similar trouble with
Might And Magic 9 on my newer computer with it looking like it was
starting but then having it drop back to the desktop. In that case it
seemed almost like it couldn't handle the newer direct x version as
the install program always said I didn't have it installed. The game
worked fine on my older system though.
Another possibility I guess could be a corrupt install. If your hard
drive has bad segments and War3 got installed on them, it can do weird
things. An uninstall, thorough scan disk and a re-install *might*
help, but it's a bit of a long shot.
