Well that just confused me; I was standing in SW AH when I spotted a
tooltip saying someone was a "Gnome Hunter". Erm... I know the devs
are considering them, but to the best of my knowledge, they're not
implemented yet. Looked again, still said it, the guy ran off before I
could screeny it but I remembered his name and armory says he's a
Pandaren. Huh?

Searching forums answered the mystery: it turns out that costume toys
now list your race as that of the form you've taken, if it's a player
race, possibly a side-effect of mercenary mode. Rather confusing when
it produces an impossible combination! I tested it myself and tuned
into a Tauren Rogue ;-)

There are a few perverse and disgustingly vile items that turn you
into a gnome.

They are super stealthy in the grasslands of The Barrens.

This is our music from the bachelor's den, the sound of loneliness
turned up to ten. A harsh soundtrack from a stagnant waterbed and it
sounds just like this. This is the sound of someone losing the plot
making out that they're OK when they're not. You're gonna like it, but
not a lot. And the chorus goes like this...
