Buggiest patch ever...

Oh and I forgot... arrive at Headless Horseman fight, no pumpkin there
to summon him, just a dungeon full of lvl 30 mobs. Had that one twice,
amusingly the 2nd time we cleared the dungeon to requeue and got our
Loot-Filled Pumpkins from Whitemane :-P Pretty sure that is NOT
intended but I didn't complain!

You're lucky :-) Usually it's me wondering what everyone's complaining
about, I seem to have hit all the worst ones this time out lol.
Considering Draenor isn't even queued (rather unusual this close to
the expansion, we're normally in 1k queue territory by now), so
rpesumably not under maximum load, it seems to be falling over
repeatedly, in many different ways...

I had one crash last night which blew me past desktop.I'm in the
middle of the pacific so some of the other 'incidents' you mentioned
tend to be common place from time to time and as such I didn't notice

When I am playing I do tend to to do 3 or 4 session of 3 or 4 hourd
flitting around cramming most aspects in on many characters, catching
up, filling characters out.
If people keep doing much the same as usual they probably run into fewer
bugs or just anticipate and ignore.
e.g. perhaps some bugs are time related, play long sessions and you will
find more of them. If that was the case it could be game related,
frequent reset triggered, packet loss due to local congestion times.
Or it could just be voodoo.

Most the bugs I've met are server crash related lol, and doing normal
stuff youc ertainly encounter them; I've actually been changing my
habits in order to *avoid* them, as they're mainly on pandaria...
doing stuff on other continents gets me out of that crash zone at
least :-)

At least it feels like the buggiest, I tend to not be too affected by
most bugs with major patches but this one's hitting me constantly!
- Pandaria crashing every few minutes and rolling you back a few mins,
at times it's a race to get from your hearth point to a portal before
you get booted again (one bonus is instarespawns on Timeless isle
rares, not that they ever dropped anything for me). This has happened
almost every day at various times.

- On zoning, getting stuck at 100%, dc'd, and then "Character not
found on EVERY character across my two accounts for 20 mins to an hour
afterwards (also occasionally happens without the dc on zoning, just
try to login normally and "Character not found"). Even more annoying
is that it doesn't happen to my bf, several times he's been able to
play fine while I'm locked out, grrr (tried logging him in on my pc at
one point, his account works even then, so it's on the account end, I
guess).

- Tonight, the dungeon queue keeps bugging out, get to the end of the
expected wait and it stick you on pause for no obvious reason, can't
unpase it without cancelling and starting over. An annoyance on my
healer with 2 mins queue time, downright infuriating on my dps with a
13 minute queue... interestingly I've found it actually can unpause
itself if you wait long enough, however I was tabbed out when it did
that, ffs. Only wasted an hour trying to run a 1 minute dungeon so
far....

Unusually I get irritated when people moan about bugs after a major
patch, but this one really is close to unplayable at times, every
single day I've hit problems. Some might be specific to Europe, some
may even be restricted to my own server (the pandaria crashing thing
seems a mainly Draenor issue I think), but all are irritating. Kinda
wish they'd just take the servers down and fix whatever's wrong, it'd
be less annoying than playing guessing games, hoping it's working...

Losing tooltips , losing maps, dislike the interface, just could not get
anything right.
There just doesn't seem to be effective scalability for anybody without
20/20 vision and a 60 inch monitor. That is purely personal, but it
doesn't work for me.
Many bad ah and mail bugs, locks, delays, sorting, lost items - blizzard
mailing you lost items without even raising a ticket is a worry.
Open bank and guild bank and finding every tab empty is a bit of a gulp
moment.
They were back after relog.
I have tried with addons off, it doesn't seem to make much difference,

It is possible the bare tabs was an addon, but then I would expect it to
keep happening.

Those and others is why I haven't resubscribed, which isn't a big step
since I am not subscribed far more than I am subscribed. More like 'do I
feel lucky?'
I paid for Wod but am really not looking forward to the start since it
is quite likely to be a frustrating time.

There is a fair chance I will try it again in a couple of weeks for the
live events , it could be good if it works.
Maybe things will clear up, they did allow a month to sort things out,
but then there will likely be new problems.
Not really bubbling with anticipation.

Some of the interface changes can be fixed with addons, I got Classic
Quest Log to bring back the oldstyle questlog, really can't get along
with the new one (and I did use it all the time I've been on beta,
trying to give it a fair chance - I still hate it).

Seems exactly the same as before to me, I guess you must've had it
setup differently then!

I did have a lot of changes, mostly rescaling. It was fairly laborious
to redo them all but now things don't adjust properly with the standard
UI elements.
The new windowing and frames just don't scale they way they did before.
They used to adjust position properly with the standard elements, now
everything just overlaps and hides other panels.
Adjusting UI and rewriting lua is not fun, thats all.

BUT it should not happen and since I often have hundred of mails I have
to wonder if anything went really missing.
Also it messes up the accounting, what sold for what recorded.
Hmmm I put up a 553 tailor hood, not on auction , not in mailbox, not
in bags, check all characters maybe I put it on another banker?, nope.
I DID make it , didn't I? maybe I dreamed it.
A day later 8k and 3k turns up in amongst all the rest.
Cancelled auctions before final logout I think I should have had 150
spirits of harmony as well not 70, they didn't turn up.

Not really a huge worry given the automatic recovery, they will
probably be there in a couple of weeks, just a large niggling doubt that
what is on the screen is accurate..

I keep bouncing addons on and off, most times I run into a new or old
bug. Sometimes the AH shows no items and I post, then the very next
update shows a fully populated price range so a few dozen gold down the
drain.
Not a huge problem, I just spend more time double checking now.
Actually the double probably evens out, in an active market the number
of time I have seen an undercut seconds before posting..
Again it is more the doubt rather than monumentally deal breaking.
I am sure others were having similar problems, either addons or not.

Why were people buying my 50g spirit of harmony single stacks when there
is now good supply at 40? Not a bid, a buyout.
Why buy 10 singles when there is a 10 stack right there at 40, and a
bunch of singles at 40-45?
Giving me 100g extra just because they are generous? or broken numbers?
Given that people will go for 1 copper less I am pretty sure what
they are seeing is wrong, so I have to think what I am seeing could be
wrong.
I freaks me out and makes me nervous , way too much stress

Again, not seeing it, doesn't mean it's not happening though, since I
don't seriously farm the AH, just put stuff up when I'm passing
by.Most of those sound like addon bugs to me, maybe worth pruning the
addons down to very basic ones for a bit, if possible, may not be
though.

I just use Auctionator and TradeSkillMaster, which both seem ok (and I
don't buy with TSM, only sell; tbh I wish I could get it with JUST the
simple stuff it was a couple of expansions back, when it was enough to
show me what crafts would be profitable to make and autopost them, but
not the complicated mess it is now, it's an absolute nightmare setting
up all those stupid groups but there's no simpler option)

Or they don't run auction addons, not everyone does (and some people
may not have updated/replaced their old one). So the first thing they
see on the search page is the one they'll buy: on less common items
not having an addon doesn't matter since you can compare prices
easily, but if you're selling stuff there's lots of on the AH, then if
someone's looking to buy some and hasn't got an addon which translates
the prices, it's pot luck if they get the best value one or not :-)

and about 12k gold waiting.

Also I find they have moved servers to OZ, whoohoo.
Some people are getting 5ms not 300, I get 80 because I am nowhere near
Sydney but still a lot better than a highly variable 250-1000.

My worst 90 is just strolling around timeless. It could never survive
long enough to get over the catch-22, you need the buffs to farm and get
more buffs, but it died before the buffs got more than 10 or 20 minutes
use. No buffs no loot no advancement, no fun, not played much.

Now it is like the slow-mo scenes from matrix.

Hehe nice! Must feel a whole lot better that way, I've always hated it
when I get lag, but that's very rare (and usually at my end, last time
I had a noticeable problem it turned out a filter had gone dodgy;
changed it and bam, connection back to normal), even playing on US
servers it's never noticeable for me, despite being a different
continent; I guess the connection between America and Europe is rather
better than that between Australia and America!

Probably more that I have hundreds of items so messages backed up, then
halt the cycle.
If I was on all the time and ran one of the automatic mail scanners I
wouldn't notice if 1% took 12 or 24 hours to turn up.
I don't gouge , much, more making margins on smoothing out extremes vs
ah cut and loss of deposit costs so there is a lot of buy/sell churn
which increases the number of exchanges.

700 or so on AH atm and only logged in last night, a lot of those are
1,2 5 stacks , ore,leather,cloth,gems, herbs,pets etc etc 5 or 6 types
each adds up quickly.

The fun is worrying about every precious pixel and byte :-)

Also fun is watching a bunch of monkeys play russian roulette

so I was reading up a bit. I've quit cold turkey almost exactly 1 year
ago, and have not looked back or missed it enough, and from reading up
on the new expansion, nothing is really drawing me back in, so I'm not
buying the new expansion or renewing. IMy only reason for commenting
was on the above remark, and wanted to make aware that it wasn't
limited to just you. They must have just sent a mass mail to all e-mail

days, pug a garry kill and get your heirloom weapon. IF you return and
want to go to 100 you'll be happy with this loom. ;)

Plus enjoy burning tens of gig of download, and spend days trying to
reconfigure addons, finding ones that work, changed graphics, talents,
changed spells :-)

YAyyyyyy, I have the UI scaler back, and tooltips don't seem to be
disappearing
I didn't have the scaler in patch 6.02 but now with 6.03 it is back,
now I can dump a lot of the UI scaling that doesn't work with standard
UI.

I don't play all that much but still hang around. Parts of the game are
enjoyable, hanging around you remember the fun parts, and forget all the
trying to tunnel to magnificence with a teaspoon.

Ooh those names take me back, yep! I miss how active this group used
to be, now it feels like there's maybe half a dozen of us here, lots
of old names are gone, whether from WoW entirely or just Usenet, who
knows. One of two of the names you list I've seen on the Diablo 2
newsgroup more recently than here, but even then, most were a year or
two back (and I can't really say much there now since they only talk
about D2 which I've not played; I joined it when D3 came out as I
enjoy that one!)

Who knows, maybe someone will reappear for the expansion, seen 2 old
friends return to WoW post-patch at least, unfortunately neither is
very active and both I expect to disappear again very fast... oh well.
It's still a big improvement on seeing zero friends for about the last
6 months, which was how it was before this patch!

I only popped in here as I heard the new expansion is due to come out,

Since you peek inhere now and then something may pull you. Use your 7
days, pug a garry kill and get your heirloom weapon. IF you return and
want to go to 100 you'll be happy with this loom. ;)

I still keep an eye open in here, but since I quit playing mid MoP, I
don't really have anything particularly relevant to say.

I do sometimes miss going drunken tanking but most of the rest of what
I hear about what's new to the game doesn't really inspire me. Not
that I've seen any email about 7 free days or the like.

Even so, I may yet return, if my life changes to give me regular
blocks of time to play. :)

I got that on an account which has never even been subbed (starter
account) lol, so yeah, it's fairly universal. Makes sense tbh, get

I tend to not be too affected by most bugs with major patches but this
- Pandaria crashing every few minutes and rolling you back a few mins,
at times it's a race to get from your hearth point to a portal before
you get booted again (one bonus is instarespawns on Timeless isle
rares, not that they ever dropped anything for me). This has happened
almost every day at various times.

I've had the client crash several times, but nothing like every few
minutes. Not even every few hours.

You're lucky, there's numerous threads on EU tech support forum
complaining about it, might not affect the US at all, who knows :-) It
doesn't affect everyone, my experimenting reckons it's
account-related, as my bf doesn't get it, just me (same connection,
network etc), even tried logging him into the game on my PC, still
worked fine for him, while I was still locked out. That's incredibly
frustrating, watching him play while I can't!

It's all server related, so far as I can tell, so won't achieve
anything other than screwing up my settings. Since they all happen to
other people as well, and the "Character not found" one I even got my
bf to login on my install with no problems, I'm pretty confident it's
not at my end. Just bad luck I guess.

Well. Talking about bugs.

Last night I looted Cape of the Alpha in a SoO hc run. It wasnt
upgradable so it was a simple 553 cloak. This morning it was
upgradable. Odd.
I logged my tailor/scriber and went to Wez'Rass (or what that island is
named) in townlong Steppes and farmed windwool cloth. Pretty good spot
for this as I farmed around +400 clothes in 40 mins. This glyph
technique <http://www.wowhead.com/item=104211> dropped, but I couldnt
learn it.

Flying from Icecrown to the basin got kicked off my flying mount (yay flying
broom can be used while moving!)

Kawai the Gorger in pet battles continues to shoot mothballs, killing pet
AFTER he has died

When I logged off on my horde mage I had 48 minutes of the +300% XP buff
from Elxir of Ancient Knowledge .. logged back in it was gone (grrr)
ticketted and got a new Elixir (yay)

Applied Slow Fall to myself and teleported to Ancient Dalaran only to have
the buff disappear as I zoned - not such a big deal as I could reapply Slow
Fall but hey. Bad enough that buff doesn't work on other players now..

"your items do not suffer duability damage when you are killed by another
player" - no, I a compulsive repairer and whenever I sell junk I repair.. so
when I got ganked doing the dousing the Horde flames I was furious to see a
118g repair bill - I dont have one that high after a night of raiding!

My mammoth mount, dragged to my toolbar has the tooltip 'you are the wrong
faction to use this mount'. It still works though.. it was alliance
bought not that it matters, I was on an alliance toon at the time.

Step briefly into the pools of green goop in Shadowmoon valley on my mage,
ice shielded and my life dropped to about 5%.. suggesting some ground
effects were not squished

On my 90 priest I used an engineer bomb to open a couple of ghost iron lock
boxes, took over 50% HP drop on the first one.. helaed and shielded and the
second one one-shotted me. the next two required substantial heals after
each one.

Low level gems having higher stats than high level gems

so many, many things wrong

I reported a shitton of bugs in the Lich King beta. Hundreds. Not a
single one was fixed, nit even the horrible glaring typos in quest
text. Since then, I've decided blizzard doesn't give a damn about bugs.
The fact that there was basically *NO* bug reporting mechanism in the
latest beta only server to confirm this.

Did you happen to cross into Wintergrasp? That's always dismounted you
while the battle is going on, otherwise, sounds like the usual one
that's been around since crossrealmz ones were introduced, should've
been fixed by now, you'd hope... *sigh*

This *might* be an animation issue where it takes a while to finish
the animation after the pet dies, and the processing of stuff takes a
second or two toc atch up, so he and your pet could have died at the
same time, but it just didn't show it. I had that in reverse, where
my pet got killed by Xuen, and then he despawned and I had credit,
apparently it just didn't show the animations of the bit where he died
too!

Eep. You should get *some* repairs, as you still take dura loss from
taking damage, but that sounds a bit high!

Today's new bug: go to Firelands with my bf, enter raid, he's a bit
behind me so I start clearing trash... he enters, trash not cleared,
no sign of me. Yep, different instance. No reason for it, neither of
us have been in there this week, both exiting and resetting fixed it
at least.

Later on, took two of my characters into SoO entrance (haven't been
near the place on any difficulty for months) for easy farming of kills
for the Day of the Dead achievements, they entered about 5 seconds
apart... different instances. Exited, reset, entered at the same
time... different instances. Eventually got there after a lot of
messing around, changing raid sizes, anything I could think of to
force a reset. Hope this one doesn't persist for long, it's a pain!
