Lol that's just silly :-) Haven't seen that one before, plenty of
groups where there's no boss though, sigh - don't so much mind the
ones I join and there's a fresh corpse, ok, just too late, but when
the group's been up for like 15 mins and the idiot still hasn't
removed it, or else there never was a boss there to begin with...
there should be a way for group members to vote to remove it from the
queueing system to get rid of troll groups lol.

My biggest wish: an indicator as to whether the group will put you on
a pvp realm or not! Not really a bother for these rares, since being
in a 40-man raid means you're unlikely to get attacked, but I've been
trying to use garrison/trader ones to realmhop while I'm rare-hunting
elsewhere, and as I don't have a great memory for the realmtype of all
200+ European realms, half the time I end up flagged, which I really
don't like lol At least the flag drops as soon as you leave group but
still!

A few days ago fake raids was trendy. I havent seen any of those since
I returned home from a little vacation yesterday. :)
Besides that. Any of those raids older than 30 secs is waste of time as
the rare is killed already.

Yep, that's my logic too, occasionally they can take a bit longer to
fill, especially ones on spanish/french realms (not so many of us have
the other languages enabled!), but anything over 1 min, forget it.
Still seeing occasional fake raids, although some at least are
humourous, I liked the one called "doomtroller" that filled up
instantly, shows how many don't actually read carefully ;-)

It doesn't; it says Custom pve or Custom pvp but that doesn't mean the
realmtype, it means what the person's wanting to do (I assume,
otherwise it's completely pointless!). Been flagged plenty of times in
a "pve" group, so if it's supposed to indicate the realmtype, it
doesn't work :-( Luckily I've learned the names of the largest pvp
realms, but I really can't remember the smaller realmtypes, there's
just too many of them.

Aha, okay. I've never been ganked until today as there were an ally and
a horde raid for the same rare. I ressed, went to the rare, looted it
in the mess (took a little damage from aoe I guess) and left the raid
asap when I was sure I got my 100 oil as usual...

The only tough part is the x-realm issue as my computer sometimes lags
seriously even a minute after I've joined a raid on another realm. I'm
talking about 1 frame per second and even lower like 1 frame per five
seconds for a time. Really really annoying. This lag sometimes is so
horrible that I cant tag the rare before its dead - which also happened
today. I havent tested this on my brandnew gtx970 card though if this
should make a difference.

Btw. I have started doing the rares on 5 different chars now as I only
get medallions. You have been VERY lucky with your 3 mounts! :)

Ack, that's the situation I've always hoped would never happen, so far
it hasn't for me, luckily. This week my Kazzak raid was there at the
same time as an alliance one, but luckily it was on a pve realm, so no
problem! :-)

I've found some realms are crazy laggy, it's not fps for me, though
that feels choppy, but just everything you do has a second or more

Ouch, sounds like I was lucky then! Although my medallion droprate has
gone down to zero lately (I still usually do 2-3 bosses a day, though
not all 4 now I don't need them), so my luck didn't stick around so
long lol, was hoping to make good money off those before the price
falls too low, made a reasonable amount though :-)

Tbh I'm not surprised they're not selling now; people who were willing
to spend that much gold to get rep quickly will have already done it,
rest of us are waiting for prices to drop really low I reckon - given
I make gold by doing dailies, and am exalted with 3/4 of the 6.0 reps,
only 2 factions would actually benefit me much, so I'd want them
really cheap. Or rather, I'll use my own ones when the price goes
below what I consider worth trying to sell probably when it hits 5k
I'll just use them... if any ever drop again lol!

Dammit :-( Will keep an eye out then,hate people like that! Hopefully
Blizz are watching and find some anti-griefer tools... out of
curiosity, do you know if putting someone on ignore hides groups they

I would often try and run traders while doing garrison duties but was
and very few using it when I had them up. Understandable, I was wary
when joining.

A couple of times instead of trader or rare it was like signing up to
a pvp seal clubbing convention, with you as the seal pup. Not
encouraging, and explains the crickets in the finder.

Is that the sort of thing they were doing?

90-100 in one day indicates, umm, commitment :-).
Just wondering what tiny personal advantage they see worth it.

I am not defending them , this sort of thing takes something that can
add nicely to the game and makes people wary of using it.

5-10%. But once a raid for one of those rares are listed in the Raid
Finder it gets filled up in 4-5 secs. Those raids are perfect targets
for trolling for morons. :/

Yep, some people take pleasure from annoying others, I'll never
understand that mindset, but I often wish Blizz would take it into
account a bit more: whenever they add a new feature, they need to ask
themselves "How could this be used to grief people?".

A real shame a few bad eggs ruins things for loads of people, but it's
always been the way, and sometimes things are avoidable, stuff like
quest NPCs and giant mounts, unwanted pvp flagging (took them WAY too
long to make it so having pvp disabled truly meant having it disabled,
at least that did finally get added). Troll groups in the group
finder, well, probably something that wouldn't be so easy to avoid
tbh, any user rating/voting system could be a ripe target for even
more trolling!

Note to self: when the item you're hunting finally drops, do remember
you're in a group and have to roll for it, rather than just dropping
group instantly to get the heck off the pvp realm (where a pvp-flagged
ally deathknight had just fought a heap of mobs next to me,
fortunately he wasn't interested in ganking a squishy priest, phew!).
Luckily, it was still on the corpse when I found the group again, but
oops... wonder if I'd have got it in the mail after the corpse
despawned if I'd not gone back? Probably not, so I need to remember
that one next time!

Only one toy left to get in mainland Pandaria now, unfortunately it's
Mr Smite, the most camped one of the lot, and one I'm rather wary of
jumping to a pvp realm for. Still need tons on Timeless Isle, trying
to work out if I'd even get them crossrealm, as when I kill stuff
there, often there's no loot, not even timeless coins? :-/

New record /me thinks. Terrorfist appeared on my realm while I was
spamming the refresh button in Raid Finder for exactly that rare. Make
raid, enable auto-accept, convert to raid, full raid in less than 4 sec.
Insane. :)

I've made maybe 5-6 raid for the rares so far. But this one was
definitely the fastest fill-up. :)

Hehe same happened to me just now, maybe a little over 4 seconds but
certainly didn't take long! Even got a thanks from someone who said
there'd been a ton of troll groups, they sounded happy to finally get
a real one hehe.

First time I've done one, was fun trying to very quickly figure out
the settings, at least I spotted the "Delist group" button and used it
immediately after the boss died, unlike so many others :-)

Hehe, sounds like it should, at least blacklisting them if you've
joined and then left... we'll see how effective it is, but fingers
crossed. On my way to try it, of course my rare hunting crystal
teleported me to the back of a very inaccessible cave so taking a
while to get back out lol :-P
