Is drinking Invisibility Potion during fights possible?

Hello,

had a very strange encounter yesterday with my level 40 warlock. I was
chatting with a friend when a level 46 hunter opened fire on me (pvp
server and a female gnome warlock - i really asked for it).
He sends his pet in, I finish my sentence and dott him up. Then I
started draining his life. I was down to 50% but he was also faiding
fast and I had hopes of getting out of it alive when the hunter
suddently vanished.
New trick, haven't seen that before. His dog was still chewing away at
me and while I was searching for him I managed to aggro two other mobs
in my search (area was a little too high for me), which killed me
together with the stupid dog.

Is it possible to drink an Invisibility Potion now during a fight? I
always thought it was not, but they made a few changes concerning these
potions, so I'm not sure. If it was not a potion, what could it be?

2 possiblities that come to mind...
1st, if he feigned death and lost aggro, then he could drink the
potion.
2nd, He was queued for a battleground or arena match and accepted when
he was low on health.

In the first one, he'd have to time it really well, put pet on
passive, if not targeted by you or your pet, then quickly feign, and
then immediately put pet on attack, get up and drink the potion, all
at almost the same time.

In the second, the pet should have disappeared when he did.

Other than that, I don't know what it could be.

Kint :)

Could also be Gnomish Cloaking Device, usable in combat.

I have done the feign death thing on my hunter. Its not that hard if
you have things hotbared, or macro'd. Ctrl 2 for pet follow, click
feign death, ctrl 1 while tapping both mouse buttons togeather
hovering over the invis pot.

Though that wouldn't wipe the dots and he should have appeared again
once it ticked.

I don't think so. I just tried it and it wouldn't let me. I didn't see
a "You're in combat." message, tho. But, with the exception of heath
and mana pots, I think the other potions and elixirs are meant for use
before you start a fight. I may be wrong tho.
