Too many BOAs!

Argh lol, Timeless Isle is a little *too* good for gearing up alts, as
I'm completly drowning in BOAs... not helped by my only 2 90s being
geared enough to not need anything much (druid took 2 of them, priest
used one with a Burden of Eternity, that's it). However, I have 19
more characters on this server (6 of them 85+) and being a packrat,
don't want to just vendor things which alts could use soon, so I've
been mailing to alts until all my alts have tons of mail, sigh
(downside to BoA is: can't chuck them in the guildbank like I do BoEs
for my alts).

In the end, I came up with a solution: I still have one character slot
free (thanks to the 2 new slots for MoP and only making one pandaren
monk), so a new alt called Boabank has been born! Can't believe the
name wasn't taken tbh, surely I'm not the only one who's come up with
that idea lol :-P Also saves the hassle I have with my other BoAs,
where I can never remember which alt is holding onto them - ok, for
items being worn, I'll still have to trawl through my alts of suitable
classes, but at least for those not in current use I may actually know
where to look in future!

All that being said, I wish Blizz would come up with a BoA storage
system that doesn't involve mailing between alts in the first place -
especially if they want to completely flood us with the things...

All I have gotten is BOAs that match my gear requirements (so all Mail,
no plate, cloth, or leather). Seems rather pointless.

You snipped the line in Catriona's post where she mentioned that she did
have a guild bank but that BOA items could not be stored in it :-)

Well I guess he can use the mule's own bank for them :-) I never had a
banker alt since forming a private guild with my bf, was silly wasting
a character slot on one when we have our own guildbank - but since I
actually have a free slot atm, thanks to finally not making more alts
after MoP except for my one pandaren, then it seemed worthwhile using
it :-)

It seems to prioritise your current armor type, but you do get others;
I have a fair-sized heap of plate and mail, even though I've only been
there with priest and druid so far. Also I picked mail cache anytime
I had a choice in quests, since my shaman is next up to level to 90 I
think.

Back in my days I used the Altoholic addon to keep track of which BOA piece
was used by/stored on which character, that made finding things fairly easy
(especially the AGI leather stuff I kept sending back and forth between my
druid and rogues which ever was getting play time).

I have no idea if the addon still exists...

It does and it's been updated pretty recent. I use it to keep track of which alt has the BOA pieces among other things.

What they need to do is give us a 2nd tab in our personal bank so we can
store BoAs and thus not have to mail back and forth. I'd even pay 5-10k for it.

Well, I say too many BoAs but they sure have uses... got my shaman to
90 tonight (amazed how fast it goes now tbh, I was 87 about 3 days ago
and figured getting to 89 before the end of Brewfest would be handy
for trinkets, didn't expect to make 90 by now!), and bam, instantly
ilvl 483. Granted, I have crap stats on a fair number, the ones with
only one secondary stat are annoying (yeah, you can reforge it but it
just feels weak compared with having 2 to start with) but... it's all
a ton better than the greens I was wearing before that. Only missing
weapon, legs and one trinket (glad I did Brewfest or I'd have 2 greens
there, for some reason I've only had one Timeless Curio drop and I
gave that to my druid, who was equally badly-off for trinkets), from a
full set of epics, pretty nice!

Reckon a good run around Timeless Isle with her will get me enough
drops to fix up some of the crap stat pieces, and hopefully a
trinket... then maybe enough coins for a 476 weapon (got a 450 atm); I
have a BoA 463 offhand which will do for now there, it's the weapon
itself I really need. Then I'll have a shot at some LFR... maybe not
SoO till I get better gear but ToT anyway. Should be fun being dps for
a change; thankfully ele shaman rotation is simple enough unlike my
druid who I really struggle with, it's embarrassing how low his dps is
tbh. Not that my shaman is any better atm, pretty consistent 47-48k on
the target dummy (think Skada reads low compared with other meters but
still, won't be that far off), which I'm guessing most people will
think is rubbish. I'll blame the 450 weapon for that and hope a new
weapon improves things a bit ;-)

Heh, forgot to press send so may as well update... 1 hour on the
Timeless Isle and now at 491 ilvl, with an epic in every slot except
offhand, and all except my Brewfest trinket and 476 dagger being 496.
That's one amazing catchup place, seriously crazy gearing speed! It's
also crazy difficult when you're lowgeared though, I seemed to die
every time I actually fought anything :-P And I'm now at a consisten
66-67k dps on the target dummy - what a difference a new weapon and
trinket makes! Still not really amazing but certainly less embarassing
than before.

It actually is weak; the items with one secondary stat have fewer total
stats.

As an example, the Cloudscorcher Robe can have 1130 in one stat or it can
have 734 in two stats (for a total of 1468).

Ack, I thought that might be the case. Oh well, gives me more use for
the duplicates I get then, can just keep reusing them for trying to
get better pieces! Most annoying is when it does that when I used a
Burden though, my priest now has a 535 head with only one secondary
stat which is really annoying (to be fair it's still better than the
496 I was wearing before); it'll do till I get something decent out of
LFR but what a waste of a rare drop!

Yeah, I had to use three Burdens to get a two-stat helmet.

Ouch, not like those are easy to come by! I somehow got blind luck and
had two drops in 2 rare kills the other day, that's the only ones I've
seen except the Blazing chest one though. And of the 3 I used, got 2
1-stat items and one two-stat but no spirit. I am holy/disc, guess
what stat I would most like on my gear? Actually neither of the
one-stat pieces had spirit either but at least reforging gives a large
enough chunk that it's not a loss over my previous gear. I'm using all
those pieces reforged atm but will be replacing all of them with LFR
gear if I get the drops... despite the lower ilvl it'll be more
useful. Maybe I'll get lucky with my next Burden drop...!
