Dark Iron Pulverizer

I have a lvl 50 warrior Blacksmith/miner and just trained for the dark iron
pulverizer http://wow.allakhazam.com/item.html?witem=11608

I only needed 265 in blacksmithing to train for this. The mace looks pretty
sweet on paper. It only requires 18 dark iron bars and 4 heart of fire.

What I need to do now is travel to Black Rocks Depths instance and meet
I guy who will give me a quest to train in dark iron ore smelting. He wants
a payout of gold and truesilver. Once he gets his loot I only need to kill
7 56 elites to finish the training. Fortunately they come one at a time and
its not a mob. Should be a piece of cake. Then I just need to traspe thru
the instance and look for dark iron veins to mine. I need 8 pieces of ore
to make one dark iron bar. 8x18=144 dark iron ore. After I quickly gather
the ore and finish off any creeps guarding it, confidently the only place I
can smelt the ore is in the instance. I could however just go to AH and
purchase the bars for an average price of 10-15g, but the instance seems so
much easier. Once I'm done all that then I just need to collect some heart
of fire. If its anything like the dark iron ore, It shouldn't take long to
get 4. If I buy the bars from the AH then maybe with the money left over
Ill just grab the Hearts of fire while im there.

Ill report back next year and let you know how im progressing with the mace.

It's sad how 90% of the crafted stuff is ridiculously difficult to make
for average to below-average results. I mean even if you can't get
into an instance and get a drop like the Fist, you can certainly just
go farm up some gold and buy something similar in the AH in about one
tenth the time it would take to get the materials for any of the dark
iron items.

the reports of a rogue SS/Evicerating Onyxia to death
and laugh. It's not that much to ask, is it?

Just a bit of sarcasm. I will however spite Blizzard's efforts and craft
this mace someday. I bought the plans at AH and got caught up in the
auction craze. It wiped me out financially. Got a real adrenaline rush
when I won it though. I came down to earth real quick when I found out what
the hell dark iron ore was. Its all good though. Love the game and when I
do farm the ore there might be some resentment but I know Ill have fun doing
it.

The dark iron bars sell for 10g+ each?

I kept seeing them on track while soloing Plugger in BRD this weekend
(for the barman shanker) but never got around to trying to mine any.
Now that I have that drop, I was kinda looking for something else
worthwhile to solo in instances. Mining that ore might just be the
ticket if the nodes aren't all guarded by groups of elites. Anyone
here tried it?
